EqD replies with: “Oh sure thing pal! Thanks for the heads up!” and thanks me for the update as if it were a good thing.
Wow. Thanks Equestria Daily. >_> I suppose the whole cluster of comments saying the exact same thing directly under the post hasn’t tipped you off either..?
i have all the episodes in 1080p color corrected, i should make this one day but I’m lazy…
Good job dodging the point about non-Americans not being able to watch it period.
oh you silly manchildren
The obvious worry is that as Hasbro has started using youtube as an official distribution channel they will come down harder on unauthorised uploads - why exactly would they be happy with leaving a free video up when it’s a product they’re trying to sell in the same place? By no means a guaranteed thing but fears that a crackdown will come are not unreasonable and unfounded, especially given Hasbro’s increasing actions to prevent this sharing as time has gone on.
I saw that too and laughed. I have adblock on.
here you go
It seems to me that you are overreacting a little, how is Hasbro YouTube shop ==> no watchable pony on the net ever?
More accurately it’s because they sell distribution rights for other regions to other companies and it prevents them from doing global online distribution like EVERY FUCKING COMPANY THAT PRODUCES MEDIA OF ANY FORM SHOULD BE DOING ALREADY SWEET MOTHERFUCKING CHRIST
I simply cannot understand how regional availability is even still a thing when we have a globally interconnected network and these are products that could be legitimately sold in the countries in question - it doesn’t make sense with TV shows, games, music, anything. The only thing region-specific availability differences has ever done in this modern age of digital distribution is encourage people to pirate things because they’re not legally available to them, which results in reduced uptake when (and if) the material is ever made properly available to them later.
This makes me so angry.
It’s a slippery slope between analysation and fear-mongering. EqD is infamous for the latter, which is why them “blandy reporting facts” is an improvement.
America-Centric is their thing.
It is a responsibility of the media not just to blandly report facts but to analyse events and ponder the consequences. Some mention of the fact that these videos aren’t actually available in many countries would hardly have been wild hell-raising conjecture. Instead, we get treated to an Ameri-centric view that doesn’t even acknowledge there are fans in other countries.
Because one of the main reasons this show is so popular is the free easy-to-access episodes online?
Seriously, this is smart business on their part, although I DO agree that they should be available in all countries.
