But I did make attempts to write a more joyful parody of it simply because it’s fiction and you can do anything with fiction. Still, I have a feeling I’m doing something terribly offensive whenever I attempt to make MN7 joyful.

MN7 had many inspirations from real-life slavery and was known for its massive Despair Event Horizon. I like it because it doesn’t follow the “Kkat Formula”, but I too realized you can not make this story respectful and dignified yet happy and comedic at the same time simply because of its themes.

I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know, and while that does sound tempting, I don’t think I can get back into the story. I kept going for a bit after I posted this, and honestly? I got to the point where I just didn’t want Murky to succeed in getting free. I really, really didn’t like Murky and I couldn’t bring myself to keep reading about him.

Protégé got back-stabbed and rekt terribly at one point, if that satisfy you. He’s about the nicest slaver character in the whole story. (Wait until you see Chainlink Shackles)

On the off-chance that anyone who reads this story is still subscribed to this pic, I just started reading this story. 9 chapters in, and I’m really having a hard time finding the motivation to keep going. I just have to know one thing:
 
Does Protege ever become a straight out villain? Because right now, I hate him more than any other character in the story (and that’s saying something) but it really seems like the narrative is trying to paint him as a good guy despite being a slaver.
 
I just don’t think I can stay interested unless I know at some point I’ll get to see him with a bullet between the eyes or something.

I really wouldn’t say that Murky Number Seven is better than the original. That sidefic’s strength stems from the fact that it’s much more contained, both in terms of locations and in the number of it’s characters. That leaves more space to explore each one of them.
 
However, Murky Number Seven differs from the original and other more popular sidefics in a few aspects. For one, it is not really a journey. It’s much more of a personal drama than anything. That, and yes, there’s almost as much whining as in Project Horizons.

I’ve been reading Murky Number Seven, and I like it a lot. I think it’s way better than the original.

Murky Number Seven gets good. Like, really good. It’s possibly even better than the original, at least in my opinion. I won’t tell you to read it if you don’t want to, but take my opinion for what it’s worth.

I like Blackjack the most out of all of them. Littlepip’s accomplishment was more of a grand scheme of things and blackjack’s have been a bunch of little outstanding victories. personally I would prefer a billion little things over one colossal thing.  
also i dont read murky number 7. first chapter was way too whiny and at moments, really dumb. couldnt get past that and dropped it like it was hot. but just because i dont enjoy it doesnt mean anyone else cant.

Because Blackjack is best cyberpony.

I love Blackjack as well. Nothing against Littlepip or Murky or Silver Storm or Puppysmiles or anything, but even though she gets a lot of hate, I luuurve me some Blackjack.
