Yes, compared to the beautiful digital art of many users crafts are often a bit in the shadow, though I think a few crafters like shuxer59 (have you seen his mindblowingly beautiful sculptures?) have made a name for themselves. But no matter, it is so much fun to craft these figures etc. It has become a bit of my thing to try out many different types of crafts. There is so much to explore and discover there. I can only recommend everybrony curious to give it a try if there is a form of fanart he or she finds interesting :)

“Based” is slang term that has a few slight differences in meanings, but usually amounts to someone doing something in spite of societal expectations or trend. I mean this in the most positive sense. You’re doing something that often doesn’t get as much attention. It is out of pure love and passion. You’re based for doing these various craft projects and being a bit experimental with it.
