My concern is that people will be caught up too much in their own headcanon to be paying attention to what actually is happening on the screen next season.
 
We call her a demigod, but for all we know only Luna and Celestia are long-lived. They haven’t actually explained much about how alicorns work. Regular unicorns apparently used to be able to control the sun and the moon (but it took many of them).
 
I get the feeling that next season will actually establish much of what being an alicorn actually means. I’m excited to learn more about the lore of the world.
 
And…princesses and rulers still need friends. I think it’s silly that anyone expects they suddenly wouldn’t. :)

I am not him, but I too am inclined to believe that it is going to be increasingly awkward of the narrative to accomodate for Purple being demigod royalty in MLP slice of life format.  
In fact I worry it may not work at all.
