However, the issue is that it was Rainbow Dash who created the elements of harmony. Twilight did jack shit but get an eternal power boost, cause she HAS NO NATURAL MAGICAL TALENT BEYOND BOOK MANIPULATION!
 
Its not as if this is some big mystery. She is way too weak willed a person to begin with.

It does bring a series of interesting questions about the whole thing. If the idea is that she acquired it because she raised her friendship level, what did she do for the other five? If it doesn’t increment that way, why not add even more stars?

Either we have a different version of the episode, or this is a fake. I just checked the same scene frame by frame; No sixth star on the “east” side of the bigger one. I can’t see a sixth one in any other frames either.

Jeez people, clearly the idea is that the stars represented the fulfilled destinies of the mane 6. Think about it, they ALL got their cutie marks at around the same time. They always said they each had a connection before they’d even met.
 
It makes sense that Twilight would be the binding element between them. The sixth star marks the fulfillment of Twilight’s own destiny. Who knows, her cutie mark might even have been what tipped Celestia off that Twilight was particularly special.
 
As to the whole “Twilight’s a princess, so she can’t do anything” thing, give me a break.
 
Do you REALLY think Hasbro or anyone else involved would make Twilight stay forever in Canterlot, going to political summits and signing bills into laws and crap? Does THAT sound like it would be interesting for children?
 
Of course not. Being a princess doesn’t mean she’s stuck. How many princesses do we know that have gone out and kicked-ass in person?
 
Let’s see… Leia gets around with a bunch of ragtag rebels in a rusty starship. Jasmine is constantly involved in adventures in the Alladin TV series. Sally is a key figure of the Mobius Freedom Fighters, though admittedly her title doesn’t mean much in the dystopian context. Princess Mononoke, adoptive daughter of a giant wolf goddess, CONSTANTLY kicking ass in the name of protecting her forest.
 
Who else… Sailor Moon counts, though again she sits upon a dubious throne… Starfire and Blackfire are technically Tamaranian princesses, and they feature prominently in Teen Titans… Wonder Woman, princess… Mérida in Brave, another princess, though admittedly she’s the rebellious type who actively resists her role. Hell, Xena, Warrior Princess, duh!
 
I mean, when you think about it, where is this fear even COMING from? It’s OBVIOUSLY not even rare for a princess to have a huge role in things beyond sitting their asses on thrones and wearing pretty dresses.
 
And come on, Twilight might have been wearing all that regalia at her coronation, but so were Celestia, Luna and Cadance wearing shit they’ve never been seen in before. At worst we’ll get the shoes and the big-crown-thingy as permanent wear.
