You pointing out his human parents? Literally. Means. Nothing. He wasn’t human when he fathered Adrian with Lisa.
Adrian is a dhampir because Lisa was human. And it actually did come with some sweet perks.

I still like to remind people that in that setting, dracula had two fully human parents. the world’s most feared and powerful vampire created himself out of sheer cunning and determination.

yes a lot of settings have half vampires, which is usually f-ing stupid. not sure if in this case. I just wanted to point out that this setting does have certain things, because I said I wasn’t sure here.
This isn’t the first setting I heard of with half vampires. The Marvel character Blade is half vampire.
okay, yes it works that way. in this comic’s setting, and looking through the old pages, there are half-breed vampires
…which indicates that vampires can somehow still reproduce.
All I can remember about it beyond the title and the anime (didn’t know about the novels) is how what I assume is D looked like Alucard Hellsing if Abe van Hellsing wore black instead of red.
Japanese novel series that spawned two anime. The anime at least tones D down a bit; he gets completely ridiculous in the novels. XD

dracula’s mother was human too. so was his father.
He’s a dhampir because his mother Lisa was human.
It’s also worth noting that not only is he the son of fucking Dracula, but he’s also an ancient vampire on his own right, vampires just get stronger with age.

alucard’s name is literally dracula spelled in reverse. he’s the f-ing son of count dracula. he’s just a vampire in denial. :p

Well, on most good fiction, they’re usually weaker than full-blooded vampires, but don’t suffer from all the things that would kill a vampire, or at least they’re no instantly killed by them.
Doesn’t make them invincible. Case-in-point, Alucard from the Castlevania games.
