A Sonic transformers crossover would be bettet

Outfit…? Did it mean that Sega has rights to the naked Sally Acorn …? In any case, Sally is the most popular female character in the Sonic Comics universe as her personal traits, appearance and fighting spirit had made her unique. The Mane 6 would like her if they met her, and the ponies are not concerned with nudity as clothes have a different meaning for them - as with the mobians in the Archie Sonic Comics in 1990-2010. Sally is the most alicorn-like mobian who could claim to be a princess. But Sonic’s personality, even if Ian Flynn had watered it out, is a bit problematic as narcissistic tendencies are very strong around this hero. Better with the Sonic from the movie.
 
The chaos emeralds are a bit problematic because they really symbolize disharmony, inequality and uncontrolled potential and in many ways are alien to the ponies’ doctrine of harmony, equality and unity - the ponies are not exactly known for being an ambitious people unlike the mobians who embrace the essence behind the chaos emeralds. Discord could be exalted to a god in the eyes of the chaos followers and he will likely be able to master the powers of these elements. After all, the power of chaos is his domain, without chaos he could disappear. So how can the harmony magic and the power of chaos work together? A bit interesting that crystallization is necessary to be able to channel the forces in both harmony and chaos.
 
Flynn can think of avoiding this problem in a short-lived crossover where Sonic and his friends will discover a new and very strange, almost unreal world.

This could be an interesting crossover and I kinda hope the studios are willing to try it. Plus, It’d also piss off the people in each fandom that think belligerent rivalries toward each other is good, so its a win-win.

IDK about Eggman. I feel like if a crossover were too happen, I prefer it to be an underused or original villain, something that jumps up at says “EPIC” and doesn’t necessarily feel like an overused trope on either franchise

Sometimes. IDW actually asked about using Sally for a cameo. Sega replied they have the rights to the name and character design, but not the rights to her outfit.
 
As soon as they have a good story for those old characters, they’ll come back, I’m certain.

No, idea. They never used any of the Archie/SatAM characters in the idw comics yet. As much as I love Blaze, it would be clumsy to just shoehorn her in.

I know they’re allowed to use any character as long as they’re from the games or the show, but does that apply to Archie-SatAM characters as well?

How I would do it, is have the Mane 6 +Spike and Angel get sucked into Sonic’s world, after Twilight, Spike, Starlight, and Sunburst, modify the mirror to have it to travel to different worlds, instead of different versions of Equestria. Tails would take them to Equestria via the SS Tornado Ex, but they need the chaos emeralds to cross dimensions. Each issue would be one of the mane 6 teaming up with Sonic, or his friends, to find the chaos emeralds.

With the final battle with Eggman, the mane 6 try to defeat him but they can’t charge their rainbow lazer. Sonic, Shadow, and their friends, use the chaos emeralds to fight off Eggman. I like the idea of the Elements of Harmony and the Chaos Emeralds working together.

Honestly, I haven’t read much of the MLP comics, so I will have to believe you that the writing is great for the most part. However, I actually believe that a crossover between the two would go a little better than you think. Especially when you have writers like Ian Flynn who has not only wrote for the MLP comics but also did a crossover with Sonic and another video game franchise, and that went great. I have a feeling if it actually were to happen, they would be more careful on how to write the characters and story. They could manage to make it something more than a typical, predictable crossover story.

I would say no only because this would mostly likely cause a uproar with both fanbases. I haven’t been in the MLP fandom for awhile, so I don’t know if they’re hate towards Sonic is as big as before. However, I know for sure the Sonic side won’t take this too kindly which is sad because I love both of these franchises.

It would be a busy volunteer work for me in fending off against those reacting poorly. Should IDW go through with it. Sonic/MLP fans have been waiting for years. A lot of crossover fans moved on during that timeframe though. Whether they lost interest in MLP, Sonic, or both along with the idea of an official crossover.

The results could be inter resting and shake up both MLP’s lore and Sonic lore. It’d be fucking balling to see the 2 worlds combine/pork together against a common enemy.
