The punishment they got in the finale happened after they went out on their own to do evil and after it was made known they will always come back and they refuse to stop their villainy after many attempts of attempted murder on the lives of those who they should have been begging for mercy

Also difference between discord and Hitler is that discord is a manifestation of chaos and hitler is a human, once Discord was called upon for his actions, he risked his life to make up for it and didn’t take the easy way and kill himself like hitler, Hitler also intended to kill mass innocents, Discord saw himself as a safety net as putting innocents in danger came from arrogance/not thinking things through instead of malice. If u wanna try to use defeat as the same as kill its not, literally he was tryna get three 3 unambiguously evil beings defeated, any punishment or fate of their defeat, they had in the finale came from their own choices and the things the villains did were things they would have done anyways even if he wouldn’t have tried to force them as grogar.
