Blizzard and Games Workshop: Blizzard wanted to make a game about Warhammer Fantasy but GW told them “How about no!”.
Blizzard had to start a new IP and you know what happened after.
I’m pretty sure we’ll fall in love with this all over again because it will be amazing. I’m looking forward to this! :)
WHOT?!
Because she’s doing it in completely the wrong way to elicit the most groans possible?
Lauren unlike Lucas at least does admit when she has bad ideas, but it usually isn’t until AFTER she’s gotten them implemented, like Bloo and Bendy, and that one plotline that never got off the ground about a pony that thinks he’s a deer.

@EQUINE_excite
eh, I haven’t followed mane6 much if at all, because I’m pretty much sick of 2D fighters, I was just going off what Its was conjecturing. The GG line just looks really bad, and if she successfully sold her idea as a show, seems like the kind of thing that fails and mystifies everyone involved as to why it failed. Then they wind up burying the toys in the Mexican desert.
Slow down there. They are still going to be using the same movesets, plus they already said they are keeping characters on all fours, meaning that there will be little human models, if at all.
Otherwise, you have to essentially make an entirely new game, and that would be missing the point of any of this.
Why’s wanting to make a fantasy-action show instead of another comedy such a bad idea?
Oh well. Lauren Faust is awesome, and Mane6 will be able to make this happen, finally.
They can’t turn the Mane Six into the Galaxy Girls quite so easily.
There’s more than six galaxy girls.
To be quite honest it DOES sound better as a standalone game with a couple storyline bosses with cutscenes and such after each ala Guilty Gear than a fully fledged show. I’ve read her posts about Galaxy Girls and I can see studio heads blowing it off as SM clones or PPGx2 clones, and scoffing at the tired old “every ep contains a dispoable monster to vanquish” formula, and she’s been very stubborn about not making it a parody. And giving her a show right off would probably mean giving her a lot of control as well, with everyone else on the staff too afraid to tell her no. Taking this path, if someone picks this up for a show now, she’d be working for them, and be less liable to go all crazily George Lucas with the storylines. She reminds me a lot of the average /tg/ user, really. Awesome world-building, okay characterisation, and some REALLY REALLY bad ideas that get stuck in her head but she wants to implement anyway DAMN THE TORPEDOS FULL SPEED AHEAD
Using Zerg Quest as an example: Attempting to give projectile weaponry to Ultralisks. While initially a good idea, they eventually decided upon putting SIEGE CANNONS and YAMATOS on their backs no matter how much the quest runner was nudging them away from it. While they can fire, it’s kind of a liability as the blast sends them tumbling end over end making them dizzy and disoriented. A similar train of idiocy later leads to Anonymous accidentally killing the Overmind. That sort of thing basically reminds me of Lauren’s thought processes, she has a plethora of good show-saving ideas, but also 3 or 4 ‘ruiners’ that she just will NOT accept as being obviously retardedly BAD and FiM was her working WITH others. Imagine Faust with full control and I can imagine something on par with the 3D Clone Wars, but for little girls instead.
They will likely turn the mane six into the Galaxy Girls and then restart from there.
Now it’s more than a fan project, it’ll be working to prove itself on its own originality. It’ll be quite interesting to see where this goes.
American copyright law says you defend yourIP from things that are polished enough to pass for your own product or you forfeit it.
Moot point now, but again: this shows how much Faust cares out of simple respect for the community, she finds time in her busy schedule to head a studio to create a game for them.
One must know what makes up a parody before it can be called such and Fighting is Magic was not a parody.
Names are the same, appearances are the same, personalities are the same. Simply because they’re fighting doesn’t automatically make it a parody.
hear me out guys, what if someone modded this game to have different sprites and quietly shared it around?…that could work…
