In my opinion, Sable was one of the most underrated characters out there in MLP. Her backstory was rather sad. She was always seen as the second choice, almost always unnoticed, and, to the public eye, always inferior to her best friend, Mistmane. Sable had very low self-confidence, so this ended up in her casting a spell in a vain attempt to become more beautiful, only having it backfiring and transforming her into an ugly old hag. Imagine the pain she went through. So much self-hatred that she turned to the dark side, but she did change. Sable Spirit deserves more love.
