No, I think that means you’re reading a bit too much into it. This guy quite obviously puts a lot of stock on certain things, and the way he’s pressuring Spike isn’t a nice thing to do. As a parent you have to understand what’s most important for your children. Money, material possessions, these are all well and good. But at the end of the day, it’s their happiness that truly matters. And Spike is obviously a standup guy and Lily is obviously very happy to be with him.
Lily’s father lowkey seems sorta like an overly judgmental douche, if I’m honest. He comes across as the type who puts a little too much stock in what someone owns and their income. Him and my father would probably get along famously.

Meh. Maybe you are right and it was everyone else but Spike and I misremembered. still was nice to have directed at some other character for a change.

There are actually quite a few times Spike was kinda pervy, but he has grown and matured since then. I’m talking episodes from earlier seasons of AT&F. I don’t know how to post links here.
But there was an episode that directly talked about this between Soarin’ and Zephyr. Soarin’ put it together so nicely and said that unlike Zephyr, he grew up and matured.

Cite an example of Spike doing “pervy crap.” Most of the innuendo in this comic series is directed at Spike by the female cast, while he’s been downright gentlemanly.
“Well you see, I am something like the younger brother of Princess Twilight Sparkle, I live with her and two of her friends in a gigantic crystal castle with more than 30 rooms, gazebo and swimming pool on the roof. So yeah, I have no need to find an apartment for myself”
No, keep going. Finally, FINALLY someone takes Spike to task for the pervy crap HE pulls instead of the comic pretending he’s lilly clean and the only bad guy ever was Zephyr. Keep it up.
Come and knock on our door. Come and knock on our door.
We’ve been waiting for you. We’ve been waiting for you.

That could mean that you’re bring a bit of your own baggage into your view of a character.
Wait, hol up.
Like here.

No idea what your problem is. It doesn’t try to paint Spike as “lily clean,” just not as bad as Zephyr.
@Johnny B. Mediocre
This. Though, maybe he doesn’t want to brag?
