I’m not exactly the biggest fan of MLP:FiM’s Magical Mystery Cure episode, but I REALLY liked the concept of all of the Mane 6 (aside from Twilight) getting their Cutie Marks all mixed up.
After I recently found a site called “ponyar” and having fun messing with the pallettes, I suddenly had an idea pop into my head:

“What if the Mane 6 got jumbled up more than they originally were in Magical Mystery Cure? And what if there wasn’t a way to fix them?”
Bronies and pegasisters, I present to you…
“Magical Mystery Crash”!
In this alternate timeline, Twilight tried to cast Starswirl’s incomplete spell on the Elements Of Harmony again and again in hopes that they would be placed back onto the proper places. However, using the spell too much backfired on her, and now she and her friends are now irreversibly jumbled up.
The events in the concept story take place inbetween the Season 4 finale and the Season 5 premiere (hence why Twilight’s castle is depicted here instead of the Golden Gate Library). Time has passed and the Mane 6 have become accustomed to their new lives.
Here’s who got swapped with what:

Rarity - Element Of Magic: Now with Twilight’s prior element, Rarity is now destined to be the Princess Of Friendship and is looking through every spellbook she has to ensure she impresses her new mentor…Princess Celestia!
Twilight - Element Of Loyalty: Twilight now bears Rainbow Dash’s prior element, and although she lost her horn for a pair of wings, she’s now Cloudsdale’s most well-respected weatherpony, and has even become a part of the Wonderbolts!
Rainbow Dash - Element Of Generosity: After becoming the bearer of Rarity’s prior element, Rainbow has taken on a new fashionista personality, taken over Canterlot Boutique, and is now making fashions for the newly-rebranded “Rainbow Dashing” clothing line.
Fluttershy - Element Of Laughter: Now bearing Pinkie Pie’s prior element, Fluttershy has had a complete personality inversion. She is now a pure extrovert that never fails to bring laughter to her peers.
Pinkie Pie - Element Of Honesty: With Applejack’s prior element now beared upon her, Pinkie has headed back to her farmgirl roots…but with apples instead of rocks to farm. Wearing AJ’s old hat, she’s now an apple to the core!
Applejack - Element of Kindness: Chosen as the new bearer of Fluttershy’s prior element, Applejack has grown shy and quiet, and has been tending to the animals ever since Fluttershy stopped.
This is just a concept, so I don’t know if I’ll do anything with it in the future, but I just wanted to show off a little idea I’ve had in my head for a bit over 2 days prior to posting this.

Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately, in this alternate timeline, the spell has been in effect for too long to be reversed, and the Mane 6 actually would prefer not going back. But a two (or three) part series where they tackle their new challenges would be great… 😉

However, I didn’t think that fit well with the concept story, as Twilight hadn’t cursed anypony, it was more like Twilight had made a critical error in her research.
Suddenly, a thought popped into my head:
And I think we all know what happened afterward: The name was changed to “Magical Mystery Crash”, and the rest is history…
