How close is all this to the old Pie Family Rock Farm?

In the trailer, Izzy & Sunny walk through a (very foggy) Gorge as part of their journey between Maretime Bay to Zephyr Heights (brown, tall peak mountains in_between the “San Palomino Desert” & the “Arimaspi Territory” ).
-> They are avoiding the desert by going all around it, between its south border & the Luna´s Ocean (Sunny´s map on the movie is for “practical journey on hooves”, not an actual representation of the real world).

The closest location to the Pie´s Rock Farm would be Briddlewood; at least a few dozen horizons to the south_west of it [if going through those “pink, short_but_still_snow_covered” mountains].

Notes:
. (BriddleWood would be in the “…_ula” part of Somnambula).
. Somnambula is far away from all locations (deep inside the desert).
. The San Palomino Desert real area is dozens of times bigger than what is shown.

The closest location to Ponyville shown in Sunny´s Map is “Rambling Rock Ridge” (3 “pyramids” at the left of the “Z” letter of Zephyr Heights):

The G4 map was never good at precise viewing of roads and smaller rivers. If the map in the book shows the coast from south to north, and was copied from existing maps by Sunny who may have overlooked the details of her studies of the unicorns and the pegasi by focusing on the mentioned localities - it is simply logical.

But then it means that there are communications that are little used, between the east coast and the middle Equestria. We know from the G4 that there are several roads to the west from the east, and since Canterlot (the mountain according to fanon fan writers writers is called “Mt. Canterhorn” - perhaps the pegasi cut off the top in symbolic victory) lies as part of a low mountain plateau land on all sides, there is a road down into the valley where Ponyville is south of Canterlot / Zephyr Heights. Maybe Rambling Rock Ridge is where the roads to both places begin.

Possibly we can place Bridlewood on the map, unfortunately we do not know if it is in Everfree, because there are several forest areas in and around the valley with White Tails Woods as the most famous. From the IDW comics, there is a slightly more detailed map of the terrain south of Ponyville, which really only revealed that these “official” maps are hopeless in that they only show very vague overviews. But I think Bridlewood is not far from the real Everfree that may have overflowed Ponyville - and that may be where the finale of the movie will take place.

Hasbro has a problem. There are two different maps, it is possible that the “official” map, which is actually based on reusing parts of the G4 map, is incorrect in comparison with the map shown in the movie. For Zephyr Heights is in the wrong direction; it would be in a northwesterly direction if Sunny and Izzy were to leave Maretime Bay up in the mountains. Instead, the map shows that they had to go up the mountains along the coast to the east, and Bridlewood is currently closer to Maretime Bay than Zephyr Heights.

Which map is correct? If the map in the movie is correct and is on the western part of Equestria towards the Luna Ocean, it means that the country where the actions take place is in the San Palomito Desert region - which is a desert landscape with rocky mountains where Anugypt / Southern Equestria lay along a river flowing into the South Luna Ocean. We do not see any desert in the movie, more like what one will find in Eastern Equestria. There are mountains from where Baltimare is located, to Canterlot.

I have to think. If the official map is correct, but if the map from the trailer is also correct - it must mean that the map - which appeared to have been drawn by a child who copied a complicated map - shows the coast towards the Celestial Sea from south to north. In the trailer we saw Sunny and Izzy walking through a valley as they headed towards Zephyr Heights - and there are such valleys between Baltimare and Canterlot. Bridlewood can be located in the Everfree forest or White Tail Woods.

It appears that the Mane 5, as the trailer went towards the end, was about to enter a mysterious forest area reminiscent of Everfree from the G4, so it may mean that Bridlewood is either west or east of Everfree itself in the great valley. Then it means that the crystals in Bridlewood had arisen after the end of the G4.

You have Zepher Heights pointing to the wrong mountain. It’s Canterlot.
