So…in order for him to be out there for the last couple panels, did Twi teleport him into the middle of the lake?

I can understand not wanting to get a boat, but that was just rubbing salt in the wounds for poor Spike. Then again, he never specified the purpose of the boat…

I’m not annoyed, I just have a skewed sense of humor and priorities.

He should get a kayak. If you’re only going out on little lakes and ponds, they function just as well as a boat, and they’re easy to fish from once you get the hang of it. And they’re so cheap for how much fun they bring.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to come off as annoyed if that’s what it looks like. ;D Seriously. I was just shocked seeing people not see what I saw immediately. The “rod” line at the end is for the ‘surface’ viewers of this comic who only interact at the most basic level. The real series is for those of us who look deep into the real context of the episodes. Clearly the ‘rod’ line was for those surface level people, but there was Gray, fishing, and the history of these characters that gives us so much more than just that. That is the magic of this series. :)

No it wasn’t. Lol. It was clearly so the viewer could see Spike and Gray meeting. Gray being Starlight’s current interest. So who knows what will come of this. We also learn Gray likes to fish, just like Spike. All throughout this series we’ve seen Spike try to get Starlight to go fishing with him, and now her interest also likes to fish. Interesting.

He might not have been able to get a boat, but he did manage to get into one.

We’re not getting a boat. NOW LOOK AT MY ASS.

Spike’s little floaties are adorably embarrassing.

Now Spike will meet Gray and they’ll bond over their mutual love of fishing and Gray will offer to let Spike boat with him and eventually they’ll both realize that Spike knows Glimmer and Spike will convince Gray to date Glimmer and it will work out great and that will complete the romantic story arc between Spike and Glimmer. Amen.

This whole comic was done for that last line.

Don’t worry Spike, keep up your massage business and you’ll get that boat~
