Finger crossed that it was just a reference for the sake of reference that can easily be discarded. If it doesn’t even make sense continuity wise that this thing is referenced, maybe it was just an overzealous background artist copy pasting art assets and not an active desire for Hasbro to sabotage G5. They should make a separate brand of Monster High look-alike instead of dragging MLP into this. Hey, for all the shit I say about it, I actually have nothing against the concept of Doug colored dolls, there need to be something for everyone. I’m just saying shoehorning a brand explicitly called My Little Pont is a top grade creatively bankrupt move.  
Anyway, I wish I hadn’t seen this, that genuinely soured my mood and I hoped I still could see this as just a drawing of an eye in the background

You have my backing here. We don’t need that garbage anymore, here’s hoping it’s just some random eye drawing. Shhoehorning EQG shit yet again in a franchise called My Little Pony will meet the same problem it did with G4, that it has jackshit to do with a franchise called My Little Pony, that it make the lore unnecessarly complicated by adding a parallel world that came out of nowhere and that it is blatantly copied on Monster High, showing a sad trend of constantly copying your concurrent instead of making new original things. Furthermore, G5 add a layer of nonsense to EQG. G5 world is already a contemporary setting and time have passed canonically. Where does it leave Not Monster High? Did time stopped there and are those ugly as shit characters trapped in a time warp, forever stuck in a gaudy 80/90s school year. Or have they evolved further and will we be presented with the grotesque spectacle of Monster High ersatz in a futuristic setting?
