Maybe there will be a later episode where they get both. Since they barely conceptualized the idea of Cutie Mark magic in g4. But I understand some kids do really care about the accuracy of the look of their toys. Lol.
Additionally, the CMs on both sides in Gen 4 (and most other previous gen cartoons) were a practical consideration. It’s 2D animation and you gotta make a lot of these concessions to save your budget. One such consideration is that if your character has a symmetrical-ish design, you can re-use a lot of your assets by just mirroring them. Having two-sided Cutie Marks helps you there.
Well I don’t hate that idea, but definitely don’t like it. Seems like a step down from g4.
They wanted the ponies to match the toys. And traditionally MLP toys have one cutie mark
I know, but what about behind the scenes; has no one asked or spoken of it outside of the movie?
