I take it as since Discord was still evil at the time, he just turned the other elements against the knights by making lies. And the knights didn’t try to reunite each other either because friendship was so new to them they didn’t know it was an option, or no one would listen to reasons. Who knows? Maybe they only used that opportunity to get rid of the other elements and were like “only we get to use them because we’re always right” or something like that.

And the funny thing is… ||the flashbacks and Knights’ dialogues are so confusing at the point makes more sense Discord didn’t done all those things but for being rushed and stuff, only it’s confusing. It’s not like in Princess Twilight where was clear that has been his fault. ||
Meanwhile, really don’t you find strange the knights uses radical actions like hiding the EoH from other species than trying to convince them that has been Discord’s fault and then join forces to defeat him?
