It’s not the stairs, it’s the pictures in the bottom right corner, I circled them. There is a series of portraits you pass on the ride, as lighting flashes like have ghostly overlays which is what you see here. A spooky pirate ship, a Medusa, and a skeleton riding an undead stallion. I’d post a link but I am a mere background pony
