Honestly I’m just afraid that this scenario will take place:

The new CEO of Hasbro and/or the head of the MLP G5 development team calls up the storywriting and production team for G5 for a “Modernism TV Meeting”.

He outlines a list of strict required changes and tells them that they must follow them, or risk being fired and/or having G5 taken off air. When asked about the changes, he merely says “for the greater good” and “to empower children with love, diversity, inclusion, and equality”.

The mandatory changes:

• Hitch MUST be gay.
• Sunny and Izzy MUST fall in love and intimately kiss.
• Pipp launches a cancel campaign for her Pipsqueaks to rally against a unicorn/pegasi pony who did not address her by her preferred neopronouns and/or joked about something that happened to cause Queen Haven to have a bloated, seemingly obese physical apperance.
• Declare that the absense of Queen Haven’s husband is because “he was a pegasus of toxic masculinity”.
• There HAS to be an episode where a young colt feels insecure about himself so he goes to the doctor who tells him “you’re obv. transgender, so here are some magic pills to make you a girl” - all without his parents knowing.
• A stallion who defends himself against an attack by a mare MUST be jailed without any investigation or questions.
• Each tribe accuses the other of being earth-pony-phobic, pegasi-phobic, and unicorn-phoic for criticizing each other’s actions and speech.
• Each pony tribe celebrates having its first mare/mare and stallion/stallion and mare/colt and stallion/filly wedding day in the name of love and peace.
• When a brave pony (who is inspired and empowered by Sunny’s eforts) is unable to achieve her goals and dreams, she blames it on the town/city rulers and claims to be oppressed, despite lacking sufficient evidence.
• Zipp and Pipp break up their sisterhood over Zipp fighting to maintain honesty and moral discourse. She is ousted by her mother and sister as a rebel and a threat to Equestria’s global security, with a ton of labels slapped on her head.

Is this a satirical take on Western society? Yes.

Do I believe that one, some or all of these are a likely possiblity to become canon in G5, based on the current/ongoing state of Hollywood/modern moves and TV? Yes.

Am I right-wing? No, just observant of the parallels between reality and entertainment.

Will I get cancelled for making this comment? Most likely.

Good point, tho I’d argue LyraBon wasn’t canon initally, it was made canon due to societal and fandom pressure. Which sets a dangerous precedent - if a fandom can hype popularity of its own theories to the extent that it affects canon, what is left of originality? We might as well take over the whole show and fuss in the Hasbro boardroom mettings over our personal ships lol.

I hope not. Ponies are (and have been for 30+ years) about friendship, not romance.

Yes us fans may have our own ideas and theories but that should not sabotage the principles that canon was built on.

Spike and Rarity, Big Mac and Sugar Belle, Princess Cadance and Shining Armor? Just because the main theme is friendship doesn’t mean they don’t cover romance. Plus, we already have gay marriage in the series.
