This entire arc pretty much is. I don’t see any problem with bringing in more classic ponies after the G1 era. Because they’re still classic characters. G3 is like 10 years ago.

Well, it could be canon. Because the events of the G1 movie were mentioned in the comics. And yes. The G1 movie is not based off on the cartoon because the cartoon is set after the movie. The only My Little Pony movie that is based on a tv show created by Hasbro is the Friendship Is Magic movie. The other two movies based on a tv show that were set during the tv show created by Hasbro were the ones from the 1980s. The Transformers movie and the G.I. Joe movie. This crossover comic is now My Little Pony multiverse crossover.

And what makes you think THIS crossover fits into either G4 continuity or G1 continuity? The fact that everyone seems to treat this crossover as canon is puzzling, since everything points towards it being non-canon.

The fact that we are (possibly) seeing an unpetrified Cozy Glow heavily points towards this comic being non-canon.
