Discord was never a villain!

Wait, that’s complaining? She didn’t outright say her parents were never there for her or they should spend more time with her. She wanted to make a point to Rainbow Dash to appreciate her own parents. She said “nopony ever told me” never specifically her parents. She just knows that because of her parents’ situation, she wouldn’t be able to get this much approval as Dash. If wanting someone else to appreciate their parents because you’re mature enough to respect your own parents’ occupation is complaining, I feel bad for kids whose parents need to work longer hours but still live gratefully.

You know what? With all this Discord defending, it’s only fair Scootaloo also gets some for herself. And I’m here to do it like I do with Starlight Glimmer. I mean this is a disabled kid who believes she can never live up to everyone else around her yet still greets everyday with a smile and found her own way to stand out like her idol. What does a privilege god of chaos, who has all the power in the world and gets forgiven everytime he manipulates or hurts others, possibly have against her? While he floats around with a smug on his face, she can only stay on the ground looking up watching everyone soar free without a worry. Yet he summoned a bugbear to attack children while she and her friends created a day camp to help children find their talents. When you said Discord has his own way of doing things, why can’t Scootlaoo do the same? She is old and mature enough to go with her parents, but she is also old and mature enough to decide for herself what she wants to do. She has her own responsibilities and her own calling that may not align with her parents but it’s still hers. She doesn’t have to rely on her parents or even her aunts to live anymore. And since simply trying to convince them didn’t work, she ought to try different methods to let them know that, yet unlike what Discord does, she never hurts anyone with those methods. If Discord is given so much freedom to do things in his own ways, why isn’t it the same case for Scootaloo? Scootaloo loves her parents and knows fully well they have responsibilities and reasons for be absent. She even idolizes what they do, but of course she would want them to be there for her every once in a while, because she lacks something every other pegasus, including her mother, has. She can only face that disappointment alone, sitting on the ground fearing she might never fly and achieve anything because of that, and yet she never resents her parents for that. She found friends to be there for her, seeks solace from her other family members, and an excellent idol turned sister to become the happiest filly in the world. And you know what? Even with all that love, Scootaloo still loves her parents a lot. She just found her own place and wants to be independent. She only her own life to live now, wants to stay in a place that she worked so hard to find, a place where she finds fulfillment and hope instead of disappointment and fear, but she still loves her parents and will always be there for them. She has achieved her dream and will still take care of her parents in the future. Isn’t that the best a child can turn out for their parents?

So you know what? I don’t feel sorry for her either, because she doesn’t need it. She was born with the biggest disadvantage of her kind but she never depraved. She works hard, finds other ways to fill in for what she doesn’t have, and cherish everyday with the people that love her and she loves back. That’s how she could greet everyday in her life with courage, compassion, love, and cuteness. Despite her lack of flight, she can soar in the sky in her own metaphorical way. No, I don’t feel sorry for Scootaloo. I look up to her. She really deserves that fan club Rainbow Dash made for her.

This reminds me of when discord went to go fix sugar belles wagon wheel. He recognized the situation needed to be fixed accordingly, ofc the scenario would probably go of more that him and scoots do cause chaos mess something up and he tells her, this isn’t working and gives her the advice. Or like how he gave twilight the advice to return to the everfree forest because her friends might need her. When he pays attention he can be pretty smart :)

You’re comparing a young kid who has lived away from her parents longer than lived with her friends vs a thousand year-old immortal being who throws people into dangerous situations just because he feels jealous or insecure. Using chaos to draw someone’s attention is literally what Discord has done and all by himself, like making a bugbear attack young students just because he felt left out, basically a immature baby-like tantrum except it’s way more dangerous. “His own way” is exactly what Scootaloo is asking here except no one ever asked him to do it. Knowing Discord, if Scoot ever asked him to do something, he would totally go overboard and almost killed her parents or something, instead of telling her to improve relationship with her parents. I mean this is the guy who betrayed the only pony who trusted him to a centaur and guilt-tripped the pony who not only admired his powers but saved the world from changeling invasion with him. Ruining a perfectly good relationship is what he is most good at.

I’m not going into who is right in terms of Scootaloo’s parents situation, but Scootaloo never complained her parents never give her any attention. That’s just entirely false. She outright idolizes their job and sees them leaving her as more than necessary to do what they do. You’re making it out like she hated her parents when she talks about them like superheroes in the episode. I know I may go too overboard with my Discord hate sometimes, but is this really how far the Discord defense is going now? Twisting a character’s canon behavior just to boost his ego?

On another note, Scootaloo messed everything up. Her two “aunts” are too busy rug munching to keep an eye on her, and when her parents finally feel that she’s old enough and responsible enough to finally join them on their adventures, she shuts them out, but spends all of her free time complaining about how her parents never give her any attention.

Scootaloo, I don’t feel sorry for you.

If only Discord in canon was that smart.

Just go back to idolising Rainbow Dash.
