I made this pic to represent how I feel about what’s going on now. Two years ago I see loads of people on the web hating Skylanders and Skylanders Spyro. (And I’m not too proud to say I was once among them. :() Really sending them hate comments of Skyro and Skylanders itself and even threatining Activision about it. (I never went that far to threat a company.) Looking back now, I don’t see as much hate comments anymore which makes me so relived, but now I see a similar thing going on…….There are MLP FIM fans hating and basing the series just because Twilight Sparkle is now an Alicorn. While I don’t mind some funny jokes about it, It makes me sad about fans hating the new seasons of MLP just because of one change. So in this pic, I drew one side of Skylanders Spyro being sad about all the Skylanders hate comments and on the other side Twilight Sparkle is suffering from all of the hate comments about her and Spyro knows how she feels.
In a way it might have been easier if Spyro and Cynder weren’t in it. Regardless of the value of Skylanders itself, Spyro and Cynder don’t have any meaningful presence in it, and from what I heard of a friend who played it, they’re basically just there, with little connection to their actual games.
Even Ted Price was impressed by Skylanders and said it still had the feeling of the original, which more people would realise if they would get off the hateful bandwagon and see the series for its positives instead of looking at it as some sort of cash grab…
It may not be a Spyro game, but that doesn’t make the games terrible, just be happy Spyro and Crash stayed relevant with these games since Activision would have done nothing with these two if the developers (Toys For Bob & Vicarious Visions) hadn’t cared for them…

In a way I guess, but Universal was the one who tarnished the brand. Activison just gave the series new life.
In a way I have to agree, you could take out Spyro(and any other things/characters from Spyro) and the game is the same.
