Not a good thing when the loyal bloods are your supporters. Our point is that the system is rigged so that it really only expands those who AREN’T loyal. Even the redeemed bloods are still second class citizens. Long term it’ll actually erode the government’s power, not strengthen it.

Yes, but the longer this system goes on, the more likely the “Loyal bloods” start to look like the enemy. This is a recipe for inevitable civil war.
But they can never become true loyal bloods. And only loyal bloods are allowed to hold really important positions. I’m with EAC8; this system was set up as a means of quickly securing power by scaring the masses into getting in line or have your family be treated like crap for generations. I’d bet the redeemed bloods thing only came later as a stopgap when they realized the long term problems with this system.
Traiter bloods can become redeemed bloods. And if they have a spouse and/or child at the time they become redeemed bloods, they get elevated to the new status as well.
My main point is that the traitor bloods would end up becoming the only ones out there. All it takes to end a loyal bloodline is one sympathetic soul having a kid. Then the available pool to retain loyal blood shrinks. Then inbreeding creeps further in.
they did this so people keep fighting each other then finding the core of the problem. after all its easyer to make your enemy fight each other then fixing the problem that ade it.
Of course this all would assume a government that actually thinks long term. It’s entirely likely that whoever set up the system probably wasn’t thinking long term, or they wouldn’t have set it up this way in the first place.
