This couldn’t take place between S1 and S2 because in Luna Eclipsed everypony was acting like it was the first time they’d seen her since the Nightmare Moon incident.

It wouldn’t make sense for the ponies to act this way around Luna if it was before Luna Eclipsed. They were mostly terrified, but they act like they’re confidants. Plus, the info about her job as Protector of Dreams tie into season 3. There’s also Lightning Dust on the last issue cover of this arc.

Yeah, makes sense that this arc is for what happend in between S1 and S2 whereas the other was about the happenings between S2 and S3.
 
I hope that means we´ll get a comic arc for what happens after S3 finale cause given how well liked the comics are i´m pretty sure more bronies would come to like Twilight as princess when they see her in the comics.^^

@sargesprinkles Someone posed the theory that this comic takes place between S1 and S2 instead of S2 and S3 like the other one and explains Luna’s new appearance. IDK if it’s true but it sounds plausible.
