Because COLORING!!
It’s not every day that a dame insists that I come to her office instead of her coming to mine. But I suppose there’s a first time for everything, and so long as there’s a heavy purse of bits waiting for me, I can adapt to whatever the client needs. Not like I have much choice when I’m as behind on my rent as I am. The dame’s office was in a library, not that the word did it justice. It wasn’t just an establishment to borrow reading materials; it was a temple, and its god was the written word. Can make a guy nervous when he’s been too busy pounding the pavement to hit the books. I informed the mousy little mare at the front desk as to why I was there, and she quietly directed me to the big double door at the back of the hall, the one labeled “head librarian”. I let myself in and found my prospective client sitting on her desk, reading a book appropriately enough. And by Celestia herself… you think all librarians are frumpy and awkward? Think again. She was fit and slender but with curves in all the right places, wearing a tight, high-slitted number that made no secret of her incredible figure. Her coat was an enchanting shade of purple, with a dusky mane and tail that perfectly accented it. Adorable and friendly face, but with an intelligence behind her eyes that you’d be an idiot to ignore.
She was a complete knockout, and clearly nothin’ but trouble. For better or for worse, that’s exactly my type…
