“Are you sure this is the right potion?” Ocean Soul asked as she, her husband Maverick, and their closest friend Gentle Star got back from a store that sold what they were looking for.

“I’m positive!” Maverick smiled. “After we drink the potion, for 24 hours, we will be able to bend other pony’s minds just for fun!”

“But nothing too serious!” Gentle Star smiled. “We just want to have fun for a little bit.”

After her friend spoke, Ocean Soul took the potion and poured it into three separate glasses equally for the three of them, handing them all out. “Here’s to hoping that everything works out.” She spoke. All three then took a healthy swig of the potion, already imagining the pranks that they could play on others. As they swallowed, their bodies began to shake as they could feel the effects working on them. A bright light had enveloped their bodies. Soon. Soon, they would be able to do what they would want, when they want! After the light subsided, however the three looked at one another, and immediately stared in shock.

“Mavie!” Ocean Soul pointed at him with a hoof. “You’re… you’re…”

“Me? Look at you and Gentle Star!” Maverick began to panic.

The three then made their way towards a mirror and looked into it. Gentle Star gave a look of shock, Maverick screamed, and Ocean Soul laughed.

“Great Spirit!!” Maverick yelled. “I’m a mare!!”

Ocean Soul laughed harder. “Aww, come on. you make such a cute mare…”

“I don’t wanna be cute!!” Maverick complained.

“Well, you are.” Ocean Soul teased, wrapping her chiselled jaw and lips around his cheek, smooching him.

Gentle Star giggled at the two as she looked down at the bottle of the potion. She laughed harder. “Maverick… you got the wrong potion! It was supposed to be a mind bend! Not a gender bend!”

Maverick placed his hooves over his head in frustration as Gentle Star and Ocean Soul, now stallions, wrapped their wings around him, comforting him.

“Don’t be sad! It’s just for 24 hours!” Gentle Star encouraged him.

“But what will our foals think?” Maverick asked, feeling somewhat worried.

“They will laugh it off!” Ocean Soul smiled. “It was a simple mistake!”

Maverick then looked at the two as both looked at him, smiling. He then gave a small grin. “I guess you’re right. Besides, it could be worse.”

Ocean Soul smirked. “It couldn’t be better for me, my beautiful mare…”

“Oh, stop it!” Maverick retorted.

Gentle Star continued to laugh as Ocean Soul continued to tease Maverick in his temporary form. “OK you two… settle down now…”

Ocean Soul then snuggled up next to Maverick lovingly as Gentle Star once again embraced him. The three were now laughing at a simple mistake, but it would make a memory that they would remember for the rest of their lives… (c) Andrew Faehling (https://www.deviantart.com/strike-of-the-ninja)
