I mean, it’s not like Twiggles was taught what to do or anything. She basically mentored under Celestia for a while because she was born powerful and destiny said so, then basically thrown into the job of two princesses while Celestia and Luna buggered off into the sunset. Honestly, it’s amazing the world is still as in-tact as it was by the time G5 rolled around XD

And as for changelings, if we’ve learned one thing from cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, gambling, and prostitutes, people are gleefully willing to pay money for pleasure even if it completely destroys them. Changelings are handing that out for free. They’d have no problem draining love :P

That and I’ll argue that whoever she reformed is the only reason she’s holding back from becoming her mentor. Heck even Sunburst wouldn’t be part of Twilight’s group or Flurry’s babysitter if it ain’t for his foalhood friend or that Sunset will have no way to help and would possibly lose her friends forever or that Sunny would have being Tom Holland’s Peter and help instead of leaving even the worst enemies to their fate instead seeing she knew who Starlight and her friends was in history. Also, can I really imagine consented love draining if the changelings remained this way? It’s kind of like akin to politely asking to commit a crime.

It’s ironically her single-most powerful asset, the fact that she can outright command others and has absolute authority in all levels of decision making next only to Princess Celestia (and possibly Luna) who have always taken her side, yet she almost never uses it. Heck, even when she pulled rank on Neighsay she STILL had to justify it by saying “well technically this is a new kind of school so it’s exempt from academic standards” instead of just saying “I outrank you, you used your authority to close the school, I used my authority to reopen it, deal with it or I’ll put someone in your position who will and send you off to lick stamps in the EEA mail room faster than you can say ‘dude where’s my pension?!’” Welcome to the absolute monarchy of Equestria :P

She could always go the other way, and invest in a proper legal system so dealing with every lawbreaker doesn’t boil down to an arbitrary choice between “TO THE MOON” or instant forgiveness, hire a task force to monitor and regulate megalomaniacs and warlords BEFORE they get to the point they’re a threat to Equestria, properly train and equip her military and police forces so they can deal with the bulk of these threats before they escalate to world-threatening, and seal Discord back in stone before he unleashes yet another world-ending threat for a cheap laugh :P

In the end, this timeline simply repeats history with Twilight essentially being the next Celestia instead of better. The villains will never receive redemptions ever again and not so evil “villains” will be stoned, including Neighsay, and Trixie once she pushed a really red button on Twilight.

Since Twilight never had to babysit Starlight or clean up all her messes, she had more time and attention to devote to her princess and school duties. Basically, without the massive distraction she was able to figure out all on her own that she outranked Neighsay and didn’t have to listen to him :P
