^ That is a wonderful idea. They already know that Big Mac is the town’s most eligible stallion. I can just imagine Bloom having to repeatedly chase her friends off the farm while Big Mac has no idea what is going on.

Eh… not really feelin’ it…  
I see more of a future occurence where Sweetie and Scoots have a kind of romantic rivalry involving Big Macintosh and Apple Bloom gets annoyed with them trying to hit on him. FREQUENTLY Just sayin’.

He mentioned he gave her one idea, and he gave them an interview but seemed to have no idea who Gabby Gums actually was. I’m not denying the possibility, I’m just saying it seems unlikely.

Scootaloo says she talks to Spike a lot about their crusading when they try for Zip-Lining cutiemarks, and Spike mentions possible off-screen interactions in the Gabby Gums ep.  
There’s plenty of reason to think that.

^ I see no reason to think that’s the case. Spike has a job, and they have school/crusading. He generally doesn’t even show up much in the episodes starring them.

Before that I’d like to see him interact with them at least a little. So far we have him taking letters, him having to clean up the library after they trashed it, and dancing with Sweetie at the wedding as the sum total of his interaction with the CMC.

From some reason I see a little in the future it will be Bloom and Sweetie both having a crush on Spike and him being close to Scoots but not romantically.
