Maybe there should be a movie or something that shows that it’s okay to ask someone out and still be friends when first meeting them.

IRL, two good friends of an opposite gender doesn’t not a guaranteed relationship make. That’s just how things are.

To put the story in perspective:  
It’s a discussion about the common “Nice Guy” thing that I’ve read about recently (and maybe the same for the author) where as a good friend, like Spike, will be there to comfort a friend in need, like Rarity, in case her relationships fail. Spike is desperately trying not to fall into that rumored “Nice Guy” thing where Rarity finally wants to become his girlfriend because he’s there to pick her up when her dates fail while Rarity tries to convince him there’s nothing wrong with thinking that way and he is not being a creepy opportunist if he accepts her offer. That and she’s pretty sure that he truly moved on from her.
 
You know what, I don’t think my summary will do this fic justice. What I’m trying to say is that this fic is about a very mature conversation about relationships, romance, and love in general. I think it’s something you really need to read for yourself (or wait until this comic is finished) before giving your judgment on it. That’s all.

I haven’t even read the fic, but the concept is familiar. Depending on the circumstance, the feels generated are enormous.

Actually this is based on the sparity fanfic “drinking alone except with two”, this is a flashback where spike conforts here with all of her fiasco relationships over the time…

This could probably be interpreted in several different ways, but I see it as Spike comforting her after a coltfriend broke up with her or something. Like he’s been doing it for years, and it’s the same thing every time.
 
The look on Spike’s face is one not of jealousy or feeling a “friendzone,” but one of empathy.
 
One would hope Rarity realizes who has loved and cared for her all these years, even after all of her other coltfriends dumped her.
