This is G5 not G4 so clearly things are different now in G5 than it was back in G4.
No, no. Pegasi should always carry other ponies to other places. Who needs vehicles? We didn’t have a zeppelin and carriages in G4.

That would be cool - especially since according to the book, Zipp also played a role in the making of the Mare Stream as well (perhaps she ran the calculations and designed the blueprints, while Izzy did the actual building)

Zipp is the better flyer of the mane 5 so it makes sense that she’d be the one to fly the plane.
It’s probably the other way around.
