It’s Barftober! Read this comment. Also, use the filters or just don’t look if you’re not into it. The tags are there.
It’s the last one for now! Something a bit more wholesome to cap things off. Only got completely dogpiled once the entire month, I’m almost surprised!
Just gonna call this questionable. I mean it doesn’t really fit, but someone is going to complain if I put it as ‘safe’ - but god dammit, it’s not full on ‘grotesque’ either. It’s just a little bit. If someone knows better then fix it, I guess.
Just Altitude Sickness
Rainbow Dash stood silently in the door frame, listening to a filly who was very much not asleep.
“Groan, -burp-” Scootaloo whimpered. Her front hooves were tucked firmly against her belly as she was writhing on the bed. The bed sheets had become a huge tangled mess as she had tossed and turned, unable to get comfortable no matter how hard she tried.
“Scoots-” Rainbow said, but was cut off.
“I’m alright. It’s just altitude sickness. I’m -urp” the filly paused to swallow. “Fine.”
She flinched as the light came on.
“First of all,” Rainbow said as she walked up to the bed. “Pegasus ponies don’t get that. Second, you’ve clearly got whatever it is that has been going around.” She sat down on the edge of the bed and gently nudged Scootaloo’s shoulder. She was burning hot with a fever.
“It’s nopony’s fault, these things just get around - no matter how careful you try to be or how much you wash your hooves. AJ said that Bloom had it a couple of nights ago too, but she’s all better now. I mean it sucks that it had to happen now, but it’s not like the weekend is ruined or anything. We still get to hang out together, right? Just gonna have to take it easy.”
“Am not -hic-,” Scootaloo groaned, “Sick.”
“You’re almost as stubborn as me, I like that,” Rainbow said. “But you’re not going to hold it forever.”
“Just watch me,” Scootaloo said.
“You’d be the first pony to pull that off.” Rainbow chuckled. “But one of those burps is going to go on a little too long and then it’s gonna go wherever.”
Scootaloo grimaced and pushed her face deeper into the pillow.
“And I mean I wouldn’t be mad if you had an accident like that, could happen to anypony,” Rainbow added. “Luna knows I’ve barfed in all sorts of weird places. But if you know it’s coming, wouldn’t you just rather get all that junk out and start feeling better?”
Scootaloo whimpered, but didn’t say anything. Rainbow Dash sighed and stroked Scootaloo’s tangled mane.
“I know it’s really scary for you, but you don’t have to be brave all the time. Nothing bad is going to happen.”
All there was to be heard was Scootaloo’s quiet sniffles, her heavy breathing and the telltale bubbling from her belly. Rainbow Dash sighed and leaned down to wrap the filly in a warm hug. She could feel the glow of fever radiating from her, how matted and damp her coat had gotten. Every little shiver and twitch. How hard she was fighting it. How badly she feared what was about to happen. How vulnerable she was.
“I love you, Scoots,” Rainbow said. “I won’t let anything bad happen to you.”
“Promise?” Scootaloo finally said. She looked at Rainbow, who could now see the tears begin to bead up in her eyes.
“Pinkie promise. Are you ready to get up now?”
Scootaloo nodded and Rainbow helped her sit up on the edge of the bed.
“Think you can get to the bathroom?”
“Bucket,” Scootaloo squeaked.

I know, maybe some day soon I can work up the courage to do some more :s
Thank you! It always makes me happy to hear from people who enjoy this stuff - but I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone tell me they’ve found something actually meaningful though, so that’s a first!
How’s that work?

It really is a super cute idea! Sure the content involving the ‘bleh’ part can be off putting but the important part is seeing Rainbow Dash being a big sister and comforting the poor sick Scootaloo. I really like the image even if the bleh part makes me queasy because it’s a sweet moment between the two characters and the little scene written in the description really is heartwarming!
Thank you! Yeah, I like the idea of Scoots being really squeamish about throwing up, so her getting sick when she’s hanging out with her idol is a real double whammy. Gives Rainbow a chance to step up and be a good big sister.
It really is sweet. Glad Rainbow Dash is there for Scootaloo. Very wholesome.
Aww, thank you!
That actually very selfless of Rainbow Dash. Focusing on Scootaloo in her time of need. She’s a Wonderbolt after all and it would be a shame for her to take time off due to illness, but that’s just Dash being a loyal pony. Being a good big sister and taking care of the little filly who needs some pony to watch over her and she likely prefers having Rainbow Dash care for her. Even if Scootaloo feels embarrassed getting sick like this I’m sure she will apprecitate the effort Dash put in her for sake.
Oh No. Poor Scoots.
I think Dash knew from the start that there was no way of avoiding it, so might as well go all in. Taking care of Scoots is so much more important to her, that catching it is not something she’s worried about at all. All she cares about is making sure that Scoots is alright. Besides, she knows she can handle getting sick, even if it’s going to suck.
Well, that would be a turn of events worthy of a soap opera :p

Yeah that’s the way I’m feeling and imagining the scenario. Rainbow Dash helping Scootaloo get better. Giving her an ice pack, making sure she stays hydrated with sports drink while they just have a relaxing day in Dash’s cloud home. Just a happy wholesome moment where Dash takes care of a sick little Scootaloo.
I can imagine the next day when things have calmed down and Scoots has managed to keep a little bit of food down in her, they’ll move to the couch to watch a movie. Scoots is wrapped in a blanket and nestled under Rainbow’s wing. Scoots is still completely exhausted and keeps dozing off so she’s not really following the movie, but at least she’s starting to feel better. Rainbow is having her sip on a sports drink every time she wakes up. It’s going down slowly, but every little bit helps.
