It’s not ambiguous, it’s pretty obvious she only sees him as a brother

The show has long since been over, so why is this relevant? As much as I love Faust, she hasn’t worked on the show past season 2, so she had no control over where Spike and Rarity’s relationship went. Dragon Dropped showed it left it ambiguous about where their relationship would go for fans.

The fact anti-Sparity fans are still bitching about Sparity is laughable and pathetic. Move on already. The show is over and what Faust said doesn’t have any impact at all.

You take this show way to seriously, plus Spike’s gonna be a giant, no chance of these two ever being a couple, he’ll outlive Rarity. Look, facts are facts. I don’t wish to argue, but Sparity was always crackshipping to me, even most of the writers and story animators agreed with Lauren, they even had to tell fans at a convention that these two will never get together and that he’s a kid and she’s an adult so it’s not appropriate.

I’m not a Sparity-shipper myself, but the phrasing of this description just irks me. Sparity certainly isn’t dead. And as long as fans like it, and create for it, it won’t be. Being grateful for Faust’s creation is all nice and well, but she’s giving - as she said herself, mind you - ‘her take’ on things. That is not the be-all-end-all. It’s not a decision, it’s not a law, it’s not a dictum. It’s an opinion.
‘It’s never going to happen’? Of course not. Neither is this new Spike-pairing ever going to happen. Because the show is over. I can’t remember seeing this green dragon character anywhere in it. So it popping up now is fanon. As is Sparity. Neither is better than the other.
And it makes sense shipping him with ‘some pony’? Just… what the heck? She’s not just ‘some pony’. Certainly not to him, anyway. You offer an example with a 14 year difference. Seems like a lot. Our own world provides enough examples of relationships with much larger age gaps. So clearly that’s not stopping anyone. Let him grow up, and maybe they hook up at that point. Who knows. I don’t. You certainly don’t. Faust doesn’t either. Because it’s all fanon.
And in a world with magic of all kinds - plus such ‘lame’ and conventional means as adoption -, who is to say Spike couldn’t have a family with a pony? Or a griffon? Or whoever he wants to have a family with? Heck, maybe he doesn’t even want a family/kids.
You’re assuming a lot. Which I don’t mind - it’s your opinion, feel free. But don’t try to tell others what they are supposed to think or do. That’s a line you shouldn’t cross.

Anyone with basic social skills could have told you this.
