Same!
Ehh, black people can have wavy hair. 🤷
Just want you to know I’m 100% in your corner. The people arguing with you are being ridiculous. Zecora is a cartoon zebra, for example, but that didn’t stop the fandom from picking up on her being black-coded.
@LoreJuniper
Yes, all fiction affect reality, but only after a certain point would we have to consider if the source of the entertainment is actually terribly harmful. So far these pony designs do remind us of our races, but the worldview doesn’t have enough similarity, and there aren’t any offensive things directed towards any of us so it’s fine.
And most are meant to be entertainment. Despite that, we still have people who couldn’t tell between fiction and reality.
Are you honestly trying to argue that fiction doesnt affect reality…? This is literally a show for teaching and influencing kids to be good friends, thats affecting reality right there lol
I’m gonna end it here but to quote Woody: “You are a toy!”. It’s ultimately fiction, it’s not real. You are taking it too seriously.
… what the hell are you talking about?
I was afraid that was the case. Then go ahead, call FBI, CIA and the cops to arrest me. Arrest all of us as well. Reality in fiction only makes it more depressing. It’s meant as an escape from this harsh world, not to come back to it.
Being lazy isnt a good excuse, in more cartoony styles coily and kink hair can be even easier to draw then wavy and straight hair. People only say its hard bc they never bothered to learn or try lol
dude ynow fiction has always represented reality, and does affect and influence it? All fictional races/societies are based off real ones. Also what is that logic at all??? Ynow people HAVE been arrested due to their work with fictional stuff which i wont mention here bc ill assume u know what im talking ab.
Characters can be a fictional race and an actual one as well ynow? Like say a show takes place in a fictional world inspired by japan, yeah they are that fictional race, but they are also japanese at the same time.
The curly hair part?
… thats not an excuse at all, and also not relevant to the convo?
@LoreJuniper
I think these are both valid points
If a character has non-realistic human skin. They’re just the character or a fictional race they’re created to belong to. Fiction is not real, and it’s exactly as LightningBolt said. Because if that were the case, everyone would be in jail or executed by now.
Agreed 100% on that stance. But tell that to twitter.
Like the Velma show?
Anyone trying to insinuate something like that from something like this is not relevant to the topic at hand regardless.
