After watching a sparkling sunset and moonrise over the North Luna Ocean together, you retire to the hotel room’s den for the evening. You’ve had an extraordinary day together filled with romantic meals, dancing, a volcano movie, and quite the lengthy poetry jam at a local hangout (which was fun, Maud wrote a poem about you comparing you to her favorite igneous rocks). She asks you to start up a fire and sit down for a moment… she has one last thing she’d like to do with you for the night before heading to the bedroom. With your back turned, you manage to spark up a log and sit down on the couch. To your surprise, she’s already prepared the table with a bucket of wine, some glasses, and even managed to quietly light up a candle. The two of you sit and chat by the fire (mostly, she just listens to you, batting her eyelashes and acknowledging the things you’re saying), sipping on your expensive wine. After a laugh together, she reaches for a neatly wrapped present box beneath her lounge chair. You, being the suave creature you are, pull a small package out from behind your back and insist she opens hers first. Inside is a beautiful necklace with two lovely blue jeremejevites and an exquisite malachite cabochon (you weren’t sure what they were, but she happily describes it for you as she looks it over). You help her put it on, draping it around her neck and snapping the latch shut. You detect a little smile! She loves it! She then says you should open yours. Looking inside the neatly wrapped present, you see an almost black, glassy stone that seems to shine an extremely dark green when it catches the light. Noticing your look of wonder and confusion, she speaks up…

Happy Hearts and Hooves Day! I made this lovely piece with Maud for our server’s Hearts and Hooves Day art jam and I’m pretty happy with how it all came together, especially the cozy background. Hmm, I wonder what Maud has gifted to you, the viewer? I’ve only had one successful guess on the nearly pitch black gemstone she’s gotten for you… all I can say is describing it as “rare” is a bit of an understatement.
