Description

Grandpa Gilbert: Yup. I was really cute as a cub.
Grandpa Gareth: I forgot you wore braces. Where did you even find this picture anyway?
Grandpa Gilbert: My mother took it, remember? And I decided to keep it.
Grandpa Gareth: Ah… I still don’t appreciate what you did back there. You tickled me for so long I could’ve passed out because of the lack of air.
Grandpa Gilbert: Relax, we both know you liked it. Besides, you had eaten a lot of sorbet earlier that day. Without me, ya could’ve had a tummy ache, Chico.
Grandpa Gareth: Technically, you increased my belly ache. I highly doubt that you helped me.
Grandpa Gilbert: Lo que usted diga, amigo. [Whatever you say, buddy.]

Here’s a little drawing of Grandpa Gilbert and Grandpa Gareth as cubs. The story behind this art piece is the following: Gilbert wants to play with Gareth, but Gath is too distracted reading a Shadow Spade book*. Gil looks at the book maliciously and without much thought, he decides to play a little trick on his best friend. After snatching the book under Gareth’s beak and shouting ‘Time to take a break, Chico!’ he pulls off a nice, happy tackle right at his friend and playfully runs the tips of his fingers everywhere on his fluffy abdomen. And boy does this make Gareth fall about. This is a little prank that Gilbert likes to play on his book-loving buddy even to this day when he believes he’s spent too much time reading. A series of very fond memories for both Griffons, even if Gareth doesn’t want to admit it. Hope you like it! ^^
*Remember the mystery novel series that inspired Rarity for some of her fashion designs? Yeah, it’s Grandpa Gareth’s favourite book series. I headcanon that this book series was founded a few decades before the present (the author is in her mid 20s) and is continued by the author (who’s possibly an elder at this point, probably around late 70s or so; older than the Senior Group), with assistance from her descendants.
