something tells me she out right forgot about him considering she was forced to deal with the unhappiness of ruling the kingdom, her friends dying of old age while she remains young, and her growing anger and hate for the other princesses she either forgot he existed or pushed him away to not be hurt anymore.
on top of having someone you’ve seen as a second mother not only manipulate her but also withhold the fact she’d out live everyone she knows and loves and just be expected to handle it ( considering she’s never lost anyone yet not likely) more then likely destroyed her on top of putting celestia on a broken pedestal.
