Still gotta admit, Starlight when she was a villain, she was more threatening and less comedic, and more realistic, and taken more seriously than Opaline, who is more of a Saturday morning cartoon villain.
Ironically, the more serious Starlight got redemption because Starlight was actually serious about trying to be a good pony, while Opaline just proud of being an evil pony like Cozy Glow.
In conclusion, while both are enjoyable, Starlight is a lot cooler and even got better ending, while Opaline is more of a funnier one. Starlight is also more fun to work with when it comes to time travel hijinks.

Starlight was stealing cutie marks because she was a crybaby who couldn’t accept that her friend got one.
And Opaline has discovered the potential of taking cutie marks to gain more power. Opaline does it because she’s just evil and Starlight… she had an emo edgy teenage phase 😂
Starlight was literally a child with a negligent father who never told her right from wrong, gee I wonder why she turned out that way.
Still an infinitely better character and villain than Opaline.
