people should understand it…its getting a bad rep these days…almost everyone either gets pissed off or freaks out from you even mentioning it like its the scariest thing since TNO burgundy…people believe its gonna control everybody and cause no money…and be authoritarian but really its policies are about helping people.
Mad respect for having an actual understanding of socialism
She wrote a book about the social, cultural, economic, and political conditions of thestrals in Equestria, which also advocated for certain solutions to those conditions. None of it was “socialist” in any meaningful way, unless this is the dumb American definition of socialism which goes like “when the government does something to the economy”.

Selenite is anything but a naive yes-mare. Part of why she is entrusted with authority is because she’s willing to be honest and straight with Nightmare Moon whilst having a broad comprehensive perspective on matters of war and politics. Combined with her boundless zealous loyalty, Nightmare Moon knows that Selenite’s words and actions reflect reality and serve her interests. Nightmare Moon might be an egotistical megalomaniac, but she understands that allowing lies and sycophancy to pervade within her ranks is bad for her rule.
I think she views Selenite as a naïve but dependable yes-mare who she tolerates and entrusts with power due to her absurd loyalty.
