It is indeed a good choice in startin weapons, then. Particularly 2 of ‘em for more firepower/less wear.

Lemme clarify some stuff seeing as I’m the one who paid for her.
 
She’s an Fo:E PnP RP character who is level 2. That is the earliest energy rifle of any use that she can get.
 
Typically she wears a pair of them in a battle saddle. Not having to carry ammo or reload them simplifies the machinery of that saddle immensely and was the reason I was allowed to start her with that rig.
 
In this game, Recharger Rifles are actually rather powerful. I couldn’t quite figure out how to do a battle saddle with an anthropomorphic Pony so she only has the one.
 
The weapon is bigger than a laser rifle, much heavier than a laser rifle, and she also has Small Frame, which is why it looks gigantic on her.
 
And yes. Those boots, and that outfit are amazing. And lawd almighty those hips.

All the power of a Laser RCW, none of the pesky ammo weight.
 
Yeah, it’s kinda hard to repair, but have enough resources to build Weapon Repair Kits, or have enough money to pay for repairs (which you most certainly will have, since you don’t have to waste money on ammo), and you’re set.

the default beam is red, in EVE it’s yellow.
 
I was talking about the receiver actually. In the default game it’s bluish-green. In EVE it’s red.

And yes that analogy is indeed correct. The Rifle is bigger yet less effective because it’s essentially a less advanced version of the pistol.

Even the Recharger Pistol is better than that… which makes sense actually, as technology tends to get smaller the more it progresses.
 
On an unrelated note, I really like the way her boots look.

ah yes, one of my favorite (early level) weapons in fallout NV..  
though I’ve played it with EVE+Meltdown Medley on so long that I forget it’s supposed to be green and not red.
