Well, Hasbro did not kill off the Mane Six. They also nearly killed them off a lot of times in the movie. They even nearly killed off Twilight Sparkle in that film. Similar to how Hasbro is too close to kill off Duke in the G.I. Joe movie thanks to the fan backlash of Optimus Prime’s death in the Transformers movie.

Well, they technically did not kill off Megatron in the movie. Because Megatron stated that he still function despite being majorly wounded after his final fight against Optimus Prime and his successfulness of killing the Autobot leader. Later on in the film, after being jettisoned out into deep space out of Astrotrain and floating through space with a group of dead caracasses of Decepticon casualties of the Battle of Autobot City, Megatron was encountered by an even greater threat than the Decepticons that the Autobots could ever face, Unicron. And the reason why the movie nearly killed off Megatron is because Unicron reformatted the Decepticon leader and changed his name to Galvatron because Galvatron’s toy replace Megatron’s toy. And like Jazz and Laserbeak, Megatron return in season three after surviving the events of the film despite his toy being discontinued in 1986. Except that he’s now called “Galvatron” But unlike them, and like Bumblebee, Megatron got a new toy with a new name that replaced the old toy being discontinued.
@Garth01
Well, technically, the Beast Wars cartoon and sequel series Beast Machines are technically not a sequel to the G1 cartoon or any G1 media. But both Beast Wars and Beast Machines do have some elements and facets from the G1 cartoon and the G1 Marvel Comics.
I like to think Ultra Magnus is thinking, “Hm. Optimus gave me the Matrix and I was blown to smithereens in the next 30 minutes. NO WAY am I going to find out what happens if I put THAT in me.”
Starscream’s Spark ( his soul ) is immortal. In Se3 ( after the movie ) he posses several transformers, and in the first Season of Beast Wars he posses Waspinator.
I was a fan of the original cartoon as a kid, though I didn’t watch the movie until it was shown on cable a couple of years after its release. Mass character slaughter in battle scenes? Megatron dying? Optimus dying? Yeah, sure, just give me a good story.
Then they killed Starscream.
I switched the channel. To this day I’ve not seen any of the movie that happened after that point.

G1 Transformers and Beast Wars Spoiler Alert

So ya in the G1 universe Starscream can’t die.
Just me, then?
Exactly.
So, same reason as everypony watching Starscream vs. Rainbow Dash on Screwattack’s Death Battle?
But people watched because they want starscream dead.
THE GREAT AND POWERFUL GALVATRIXIE DISAGREES.
He gets better.
No Sweetie Belle is Rodimus, Sunset is Megatron.
Then they killed Starscream.
