Applebloom slid up the vent cover and peers into the ventilation control unit. The interior of the unit was drenched with a clear, thick, viscous mucus. The earth pony’s face expressed her digust.
“Oh horseapples! What the hay has happened here?!”
“Did one of the heat exchangers have seal fail and it leaks its coolant all over it?” Scootaloo asked
Applebloom shook her head. “Nah! This is ain’t coolant!” The filly looked down and noticed that the sleeve of her gold tunic now had some of the mucus. In frustration the filly flicked her hoof causing some of it to splatter onto Scootaloo’s matching gold tunic.
“Oops! Sorry Scoots! My bad!”
The orange pegasi looked down at her tunic and sighed. “Well if it isn’t coolant then what is it?”
AB pulled a engineering tricorder out and turned it on. After a few seconds she muttered. “Well this here doohickey says it’s some kind of organic material. So it’s definitely not Griffonstone Grease, and there’s like gallons of this goop in this here control unit!” She put the tricorder away and grabbed a screwdriver with her teeth. Then she peered back into the unit.
While this was going on Sweetie Belle was looking around Cargo Bay 6 of the Cerritos. Being careful to avoid any of the large puddles of icky stuff that had obviously spewed out of the ventilation unit. She wasn’t sure what AB and Scoots were talking about. It was all engineering gibberish to her. Besides ever since they’d entered the cargo bay the unicorn had felt like she was being watched. It was very unsettling to her.
She was just about to comment on it when a glob of the icky stuff fell from above and splattered on the left sleeve of her red tunic. Glancing up to see where it came from the filly squealed.
“Girls! I’ve found the source of the icky stuff!”
This was the second drawing I started during my Star Trek themed Picarto stream. I can totally see the CMC being in the Star Trek series Lower Decks. Link Also Sweetie Belle seems to have the worst luck when it comes to tentacles.
