i do think chrysalis has so much potential also :)

I do wish they had Chrysalis take Dtarlight’s hoof, or at least give a tentative try at reformation. It would be fun to have her as their “mean friend” who actively mocks the ponies naive plans, but helps out anyway. Like Discord, except she’d actually solve the problem. The princesses would hate asking for her help, but would keep doing so because she’s more reliable than Discord, so they put up with her ribbing.

Twilight had no memory of when she was petrified by the cockatrice, so I’m guessing being petrified in MLP normally means you’re unconscious. Discord could sense things while petrified, but he’s not exactly a normal creature.

There’s a horrible possibility. I thought they could still see and hear while they were stoned, like when they turned the protagonist into a bronze statue in one episode of Farscape.

Chrysalis: “My magic and my permanent freedom in exchange for my help.”
Cadence: “Are you sure about this, Twilight? Why do we need her for this?”
Twilight: “Because this new villain we’re facing is capable to absorbing emotions, just like she can.”
Chrysalis: “Oh, this is just so delicious. The first bout of freedom that I get in years and it’s because you need me.”
Cadence: “I don’t need you. Twilight does. I’m perfectly content to see you decay as a lawn ornament.”
Twilight: “Cadence, I know how you feel about her. I don’t like her either. But she’s the only one I know who can absorb emotions.”
Cadence: “There’s Thorax and his changed changelings, right?”
Twilight: “Small problem with that, Cadence; once they changed, they lost the ability to absorb emotional energy as their bodies evolved.”
Cadence: “…Tirek? Anybody but her.”
Twilight: “Tirek would be far more dangerous than Chrysalis and you know it.”
Cadence: “Gggrr… ponyfeathers.”
Chrysalis: “Well well, look who just ran out of options, Cady~”
Cadence: “Don’t call me Cady.”
Chrysalis: “Those are my terms: I get my magic back and my freedom in exchange; take it or leave it.”
Twilight: “Fine… but if you step out of line, you’ll find that there are fates far worse than being turned to stone.”
Chrysalis: “I highly doubt that anything could be worse than total sensory deprivation for many years.”

They probably need her to do something.
