Note that she’s just handing over fruit that’s on a plate, no preparation required. However, in the ‘regular’ G3-opening, from “Meet the Ponies,” before the 3.5 art style change, the adult version of Sweetie Belle serves cookies, and her “Meet the Ponies” short makes baking her ‘thing.’
 
So I like to think that when she was young she was a horrible cook but she got better with practice.

I think ‘our’ Sweetie Belle’s cooking skills are supposed to be an ironic reversal. G3 Sweetie Belle was a master chef, so naturally G4 Sweetie Belle can somehow manage to burn juice.
