When Giant Ponies and Creatures Attack - Season 2 Episode 1 - A Dust of Darkness
Summary: Lightning Dust causes havoc in Chicago. Rainbow Dash and the gang must stop the giant pegasus from ripping Chicago apart.
Three months have passed following Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon being taken into custody in Barcelona and Twilight and her friends have remained in Equestria, deciding they should look after their friends and care for them, too, knowing that they should still see them whenever it is needed.
The next night, however, Twilight and her friends returned to the real world and are visiting Chicago, walking on the sidewalks while seeing the beautiful night where the shooting stars are showing an appearance, leaving citizens satisfied with shooting stars happening sometimes at night.
“I can’t believe we ended up in the real world for three months. Crazy!” Applejack told her friends with a surprised expression on her face.
“Yes and even though we have returned to Equestria early this morning, we came back in the real world checking in on the folks and make sure that everything is still all right.” Twilight Sparkle reminds her friends that despite the real world currently safe at hands, she still suggests seeing citizens from to time just in case anything bad happens.
“Celestia, Luna, Spitfire, and everypony else are all back on the good side!” Pinkie Pie said, recalling from last time that all the ponies and creatures have been heroes following the two evil corrupted alicorns’ defeat in Barcelona.
Upon listening to what Pinkie Pie was saying, Rarity realizes that Pinkie Pie was right after all.
“Now that Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon are in jail, no one will ever turn all our friends into villain again.” Rarity was glad the two corrupted alicorns deserved what they got.
“You got that part right because Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon needed a huge lesson for the crimes they have caused!” Rainbow Dash flies herself around in the air twice with a proud look on her face. “Like, hell yeah, they definitely deserved all the punishment they were gonna be getting from the police back in Barcelona.
Pinkie Pie is wearing her father’s old wristwatch around her front left leg for the second time and she notices that the time is 8:47 PM, and 9:00 is almost around the corner.
On the other hoof, Fluttershy was still looking up in the sky, seeing that the dark sky was just as adorable as ever.
“Aww, just take a view at the clear purple sky, girls…” Fluttershy told her friends, wanting them to join in on her with seeing the starry sky for a brief moment.
“Okay, as you wish.” Applejack replies, tilting her head up and the starry sky with Fluttershy.
The other four ponies looked up in the sky seeing that the moon is also shown. So far, it was a great night for the Mane Six. The humans, however, are doing something else, such as working a jobs at night, doing chores at homes, etc.
“Shouldn’t we get going and go see everyone in Equestria right now?” Rarity asked Twilight Sparkle, as she wanted to see her sister again. “I’ve missed Sweetie Belle and I do wanna see my beloved younger sister again as a reunion… I feel like all the times I have stayed in the real world is tearing us both apart…”
Feeling how nervous and worried Rarity was feeling over her sister, Twilight Sparkle comforted her, telling her, “Don’t worry, Rarity. Sweetie Belle is safe, and nothing is gonna break the relationship between you and your little sister when you’re not together.”
“As long as Sweetie Belle is not in danger, Apple Bloom won’t be in danger either.” Applejack was sure of herself that everything would be alright for her sister and Rarity’s sister.
“I think you got a point there.” Rarity replied, getting herself back on a more calmer side.
“I’m hoping everyone doesn’t panic over any of our friends being mind controlled…” Rainbow Dash felt a bit suspicious that her friends and allies connecting with her and the other five ponies could be under the dark side soon.
Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle look puzzled about what Rainbow Dash just mentioned.
“What are you talking about? Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon are in prison, remember?” Twilight questions Rainbow for what she meant about someone being mind controlled. “I don’t see one giant in sight.
“You gotta be making things…” Applejack tried saying something before she sentence got interrupted when she felt the ground shaking below her hooves.
Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity and Fluttershy are confused over what was happening. The citizens who are inside buildings, on the sidewalks or driving inside vehicles stopped themselves when they have heard buildings shaking.
“This has gotta be some sorta joke. There better not be one giant pony looming around Chicago this late at night, or else I’m gonna be very angry.” Pinkie Pie said with a frown on her face.
However, the ground was beginning to shake more louder, car alarms started going off as this was occurring. Second, the Mane Six was hearing a loud explosion from a couple buildings from the right.
People began panicking as they noticed that a giant evil pony was in the city, destroying buildings and killing people in its path.
As the citizens started running in terror because the enormous creature was spotted in Chicago, Rainbow Dash turned around and reacted in shock when she realized that it was Lightning Dust, who just kicked a building with her hind right hoof.
“Oh, damn… Not Lightning Dust!” Rainbow Dash places her hoof on her forehead in shame and frustration upon witnessing how big her arch-nemesis was.
“I thought we defeated her in Berlin, Germany a few months ago!” Applejack slammed her hat down to the ground in anger, yet not even she is happy seeing that Lightning Dust has been turned into a giant once again.
With Lightning Dust becoming a giant, she was feeling tremendous power and after drinking a dark potion, her eyes changed to dark red. She unleashed her wrath against the humans and fired lasers from her eyes, destroying buildings and crushing vehicles under her hooves. She laughed in an evil manner, seeing things collapsing before her, just like she wanted.
“Get ready for some pain, suckers because I’m tearing Chicago all apart and watch everything become dust in the end!” Lightning Dust said, just as she began her stroll, leaving huge hoof prints on the ground as she continued her massacre.
“We can’t let her get away with this!” Rainbow Dash told her friends as she started chasing after the giant Lightning Dust causing havoc across the city, terrorizing people everywhere.
Rainbow’s friends followed her as they find out that they all must go back through this mess all over again. Dealing with Lightning Dust is not what Rainbow Dash likes doing, but she doesn’t have any other choice except just deal with it and stop her huge rival from destroying all of Chicago.
Lightning Dust stomped her way through the city, kicking one building with her front left hoof while giving an evil smirk towards the citizens, who are running away from her. However, the Chicago Police Department stood in her way before approaching the people.
“Kindly leave this city before we must start shooting, now!” One male police officer said, who was holding the megaphone in his hand while speaking.
“Leave? Oh, I won’t leave and let these worthless tinies and now even you can stop me, you pathetic weaklings.” Lightning Dust laughed before she started flapping her wings regarding her massive size, creating some winds that pushed the entire police squad back.
Still, the police squad fought back and got back up shooting at Lightning Dust, but the bullets didn’t do anything.
“What? That can’t be!” The leader said with a shocked look on his face.
“Bullets don’t even hurt me, and I’m not feeling anything that tickles…” Lightning Dust chuckles before she fires laser from her eyes, sending them towards the police officer, which soon killed them and then they collapsed, causing them to drop the guns from their hands.
Lightning Dust destroyed the police cars afterwards by stomping on them with her hooves, setting them on fire, and they became flat like a pancake.
As the giant evil pegasus pony resumed what she was doing so she can search for more humans she can wipe out, Rainbow Dash and the others quickly caught up with her, running as fast they could. Rainbow Dash flies closer and get in Lightning’s way before she could let her go any further towards the humans.
“Lightning Dust, how did you even escape from jail?” Rainbow Dash asked, as she was furious and demanded an answer from Lightning Dust on how she broke free from prison in Germany. “You couldn’t have been set free when nobody else could help you back then!”
“But Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon helped me get out of jail last night after they escaped from prison earlier.” Lightning Dust explained her reason about why she is free. “You see, after the two evil alicorns released me from jail, they found the other two villains you fought in New York and Las Vegas and helped them break free from prison, too!”
“Y-You don’t mean…?” Rarity asked with a worried look on her face.
Lightning Dust replied with a confident look on her face: “I do, and Suri and Spoiled Rich are free, working for the alicorns just like how I am doing. I am back for revenge and I’m gonna start the carnage with you!”
“YOU DAMN MORON!!!” Rainbow Dash screamed as she charged at Lightning Dust with full speed, preparing for an attack.
Unfortunately, Lightning Dust gives a wicked grin at Rainbow Dash as the latter is flying closer towards her. Lightning Dust soon smacked her rival with her front hooves at maximum power, sending Rainbow Dash to the ground that easily.
Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity and Twilight Sparkle all react in horror when they witnessed how powerful Lightning Dust was, knocking down Rainbow Dash in one strike.
“Hey, leave her alone, you big monster!” Pinkie Pie shouted at Lightning Dust.
Lightning Dust turns her head at Pinkie Pie with a glare, firing her eye lasers at her. Twilight Sparkle teleported herself in front of Pinkie Pie and created a barrier around all five ponies at once, making Lightning’s beam bounce another direction instead.
“You ponies are a pain in the ass. Just get moving already…” Lightning Dust started getting bored and find Rainbow and her five friends wasting her time.
“Not until we beat you up!” Rarity fired her magic beam at Lightning Dust, but Lightning Dust hit it with front left hoof, sending it back at Rarity, soon hitting her, knocking her out cold for a temporary time.
“ENOUGH!!!” Applejack runs forward and jump in the air, attempting for a single punch.
Lightning Dust evilly smirks at Applejack and kicks her while she was in mid-air, resulting her in falling to the ground.
“You ponies are getting on my nerves.” Lightning Dust told the Mane Six, having herself getting in a mood where she was more irritated every time Rainbow and the others kept standing in her way. “I’m just gonna do this, just to make sure you ponies can let me be forever!”
“No you don’t!” Pinkie Pie ran towards Lightning Dust, only to stop herself when she saw the giant evil pegasus fire yet another round of lasers from her eyes.
The lasers nearly hit the Mane Six, pushing them back, making them unable to keep balance.
“Don’t get back up, losers.” Lightning Dust said before walking away from the Mane Six, now unconscious for some time, and that they will not stop her from getting her hooves on the tinies and Chicago itself added along with it.
“Lightning… Dust… No…” Rainbow Dash tried getting back up, but she couldn’t as she was too weak to even do so.
Twenty-four minutes later, Lightning Dust has caused destruction elsewhere in Chicago. She was wiped hundreds of people in her wrath. No one could stop the evil giant pegasus pony during this time because the Mane Six are nowhere near Lightning Dust.
“Never run away because it is pointless and it won’t stop me determining where you fools are at.” Lightning Dust warned the tinies that hiding can never work on her.
One man inside his car got out and pulled his gun, shooting at the evil pegasus.
When the giant evil pegasus heard the sound coming from behind her, which the bullet hit her butt despite the fact it didn’t do anything, she turned around towards the man, deciding she should take him as her next victim, so she can be satisfied with her terror even more.
“Stay back, you monster!” The man fired more bullets from his gun towards the enormous pegasus who approached him with strong hatred inside her heart.
“It’s your fault for shooting me, so now I gotta kill you next. Sorry, mortal!” Lightning Dust laughed evilly as she just can’t wait until she saw the man appearing before her becoming nothing except dust.
Despite Lightning Dust reprimanding the man that bullets are useless on her, the man still kept on shooting anyway, but soon Lightning Dust fired lasers coming from her eyes, which came straight towards the man and went through his chest, which made him drop him gun and he collapsed on the ground. She then unleashed laser to finish the man off, destroying him completely. His car behind him was destroyed along with him.
“Who’s next to meet their demise?” Lightning Dust asked, wondering who else would wish to die more quickly.
Suddenly, a group of teen boys threw crumpled paper balls at the giant Lightning Dust from behind while she was standing still.
“Take that, you big meanie!” said Male teen #1, who was wearing a backwards baseball cap.
“This oughta teach her not to mess with these humans!” Another teenage boy said, laughing at the giant evil pegasus while he had his hands in his pants pocket.
“Get moving, you big pegasus bully!” A third teen boy shouted, booing at the evil Lightning Dust for causing such harm towards the humans.
Angered, Lightning Dust pays her attention towards the five teenage males that threw crumpled paper balls at her when she was not looking at them. She swore that she would kill them all right where they stand.
Glaring with hatred at the five male teenagers, Lightning Dust fired her lasers towards the men, who helplessly tried escaping, but soon they died and ended up being nothing.
Finally calming herself down a few seconds later after some boys pushed her to her limits that quick, Lightning Dust began resuming her stroll, leaving massive hoof prints on the streets and flattened vehicles behind as she kicked over one building with her front right hoof and the building collapsed while she didn’t even bother seeing it as a useless structure.
“LIGHTNING DUST!!!” Someone shouted Lightning’s name as she stomped on a car underneath her hoof.
Looking around, Lightning Dust turned around seeing nobody behind her and assumed that everything was safe, so she kept on walking. However, when she turned straightforward, she was surprised Rainbow Dash have finally woken up, now appearing differently.
“How did you even make it all the way here?” Lightning Dust asked Rainbow Dash.
“While me and my friends wereknocked out cold, we’ve heard all the scream and shouting from the people in this area.” Rainbow Dash answered Lightning’s question. “All the people have given all me their energy and so did my friends, which will be enough to stop all the terror you’ve been causing this whole time!” She added.
Believing that Rainbow Dash was just bluffing, Lightning Dust unleashed lasers from her eyes, but Rainbow Dash very quickly dodged her attack before it could even hit her.
“She shouldn’t have moved that fast…!” Lightning Dust was shocked when she saw Rainbow Dash moving at a faster speed, which eventually caught her off guard.
“Now this is the end!” Rainbow Dash charged at maximum speed and kicked Lightning Dust hard in the chest, pushing her back some.
Lightning Dust was actually suffering some damage and she was breathing hard enough that she could just keep fighting until the very end, but Rainbow Dash was really angry and has gotten more power at the fullest.
“Time for the big finale: the Sonic Rainboom!” Rainbow Dash flies up in the air real fast in a second and then came down forward at Lightning Dust with her technique, Sonic Rainboom.
Although Lightning Dust was not finished, when she looked up at Rainbow Dash in the air, she noticed that Rainbow Dash was performing her special move on her, and will hurt a lot once she comes close towards her with the Sonic Rainboom.
Once Rainbow successfully performed it, she does it at the right landing before touching the ground, hitting Lightning Dust with her special technique.
“This can’t be… I never expected this…!” Lightning Dust said before she was pushed back and then she shrunk slowly until she the same size as Rainbow Dash again and then fell on to the ground again.
Rainbow Dash’s friends have caught up with and they were surprised that she has defeated Lightning Dust before they could arrive.
“Hey, hey, hey! Rainbow’s defeated Lightning Dust, everyone!” Pinkie Pie told her friends with excitement as they run and see Rainbow Dash again, hugging her for all the hard effort that she put into herself.
“You did it… You’ve won…! You actually defeated Lightning for the second time!” Fluttershy said with happiness and tears inside her eyes, almost beginning to cry.
Lightning Dust stood up and, seeing that there’s no other choice at this time, she decided she must retreat and admit defeat. She flies away in anger and she promised Rainbow Dash and her friends that things are not going to be the same way again.
“Well, there she goes running away, like she should be doing.” Rarity said.
“And I hope she doesn’t come back.” Applejack was honest that Rainbow’s rival, Lightning Dust, will never be returning even if she came back with vengeance once more.
“So far, Chicago is safe…” Rainbow Dash told her friends, seeing that everything is safe and sound despite all the destruction Lightning Dust.
Those who survived Lightning’s wrath all cheered for Rainbow Dash as she and her friends felt honored that they have been heroines as always for saving them and the city from evil giants.
“We better get home.” Rainbow Dash said as she wanted to visit Cloudsdale again.
“Not until I say so.” Twilight Sparkle reminded Rainbow Dash that they still must continue protecting cities and the real world from more evil giants just in case anything happens.
