Yes they 100% do. But yeah, they mostly take the air from inside and cool it. I’m an HVAC tech.
Also the fact we are going so in depth about this over a comic is kind of crazy. Just enjoy, laugh, and let’s move on, lol.

Heat pumps are very common in North America. In this series, where Adorkable Twi lives, it is a cooler region, and heat pumps are the more common tool for cooling and heating homes.

Usually not. It’s more effective to cool the air that’s already inside the house, than to constantly pump the fresh air inside, trying to cool it in the process. But you still need to get the fresh air from time to time, and this is what the ventilation is for. Large buildings have HVACs - Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems, where all this elements are integrated into one complex system. I’m not sure, how common is it in ordinary household.

Is that how an air conditionor works? Mine does not exchange air between inside and outside. Or do only really big ones do that?
