When Giant Ponies and Creatures Attack - Season 2 Episode 3 - The Awakening of Dark Mayor Mare
Summary: A giant evil Mayor Mare takes control over Kansas City. Will Applejack and her friends be successful stopping her plans from keeping the city under her rule forever?
Having lost the war against the evil Princess Celestia in New York the previous night, Twilight Sparkle and her friends remained in Equestria until morning. Later that night, the six ponies are in Kansas City, with three ponies sitting on two benches each, looking depressed and frustrated for what happened yesterday.
“Things have gotten really for us…” Applejack told Rainbow Dash, who was just as upset as she was, now knowing that Princess Celestia is permanently a traitor to them all. “She was so huge, she easily defeated us! She betrayed us forever! This is not fair!”
“Yeah! I can’t she believe she is friends with Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon, from what I’ve heard lately.” Rainbow Dash said, having realized Princess Celestia has joined dark side and take Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon as her new friends and allies.
“Friends?” Twilight Sparkle asked Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash replied, telling Twilight Sparkle, “Definitely it is true. After she left Manhattan, she returned to see the other two evil alicorns who accepted her as a trustworthy friend.”
“That just damn sucks!” Pinkie Pie said with an angry expression on her face.
“I know right?” Fluttershy questioned Pinkie Pie with a nervous smile, annoying everypony else except Rainbow. “While I’m feeling the same way as you all do, we must respect that losing a friend like Celestia forever is not positive and that hurts everypony’s feelings.”
“If only Luna was with us, she’d stop those three alicorns from controlling the real world and taking over Equestria.” Twilight Sparkle places her front hoof under chin, feeling bored.
However, Rarity comforted and told Twilight Sparkle with some advice: “Darling, I don’t think Princess Luna can stop Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon since Princess Celestia is working for them now. And at this rate, those two corrupted alicorns might turn Princess Luna evil next and she will be joining their side forever.”
The other five ponies react in shock over what Rarity just mentioned about what might occur next.
“Y-You don’t mean…?” Pinkie Pie wondered if this is actually happening.
“Sadly, this may be true, everypony.” Rarity told Pinkie Pie and the others, letting them know that it won’t take long until the three alicorns bring Princess Luna and have them helping them out. “There’s nothing we can do because there’s other evil giants we gotta worry about! Who knows where an evil giant is right now?”
“I have no idea.” Pinkie Pie shrugs, not even herself could know where the next evil giant can be located right now.
However, Rarity said to herself as she was getting suspicious of something: “I’d hate for the fact that me and my friends have been fighting evil giants for a while, but we don’t ever get a break from that indefinitely, however.”
“Hey, does anyone know where Starlight Glimmer went?” Fluttershy asked her friends upon noticing that Starlight Glimmer was not with them.
“I believe she is with Sunburst, showing him what happened in New York.” Applejack answered Fluttershy’s question, having herself informed that Starlight has left so she can help Sunburst for a while.
“I guess we gotta do this next mission without her, huh?” Rainbow Dash asked.
The other five ponies nod and agree, meaning that they must fight the next evil giant without Starlight Glimmer being involved.
All the ponies got up from the bench and walk on the sidewalks deciding they should try something before anything happens unexpectedly.
Apparently, it was too late. The Mane Six heard an explosion coming from a nearby building that stood before them. People started screaming, panicking and running as it appears that another evil giant was around the city.
“Well, what do you know? Another evil giant is let loose!” Applejack hears an evil laugh from behind her and her friends.
The evil giant attacking the city was Mayor Mare. She gives an evil smirk towards the fleeing tinies who kept running away from her as they tried surviving her rampage. Falling under Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon’s control, her eyes turned red, making her become a villain. The mayor pony couldn’t care for the tinies as her objective was to wipe them all out.
Giant Dark Mayor Mare crushed vehicles below her hooves finding them exactly just junk and left them behind as she kept on walking her way through Kansas City.
“Bow before your new mayor, who is keeping this city under her control!” Mayor Mare laughed evilly as she declares Kansas City being under her rule and that the humans will agree with what she says. “If you defy me, I will still kill you either way regardless!”
“Since when the hell did we ever see Mayor Mare behave this mean?!” Rainbow Dash was confused about why Mayor Mare acting cruel and violent towards the tinies.
“Yeah, this is some pretty damn behavior I’m sensing from her for sure and we gotta fight her and break her free from the evil alicorns’ control.” Fluttershy said as she was determined to bring Mayor Mare back on the side where she belongs.
Though the ponies find Mayor Mare and all mayor ponies just nice and kind all the time, this time was becoming a different story, which changed everything. The Mane Six all ran as the giant evil Mayor Mare was approaching closer.
“We can’t let Mayor Mare take control over Kansas City! We just can’t…!” Rarity would do whatever she can and save Kansas City from being under Mayor Mare’s rule.
Twilight Sparkle fired her magic at the evil giant pony who was stomping her way through the streets and when it hit her front left hoof, she stopped herself from walking and then she looked down at the Mane Six, glaring at them with hatred.
“How absolutely dare do you that?!” Mayor Mare said as she was having her fun interrupted.
“Mayor Mare! You can’t keep doing this any longer!” Applejack shouted as she wouldn’t let the mayor get away with killing the tinies any further.
“You don’t realize that the darkness is taking control over you and you are doing favors for Nightmare Moon, Daybreaker and Princess Celestia, and we can tell just from what we are seeing so far.” Pinkie Pie told Mayor Mare that the darkness inside the latter means she is gaining more power every second.
Mayor Mare laughed herself, placing her front left hoof on the forehead, saying, “Right, you are, my enemies… I will make sure that all humans are wiped out and that I impress the alicorns with what they want.”
“Not if we gotta say something about it!” Rainbow Dash charges forward as she flies faster and give Mayor Mare a kick in the chest.
Unfortunately, Mayor Mare started smirking at Rainbow Dash, tricking into her believing that she would let her strike her hard, so instead when the pegasus came closer, Mayor Mare smacked her away with one hoof, pushing her away.
“Man, she sure is one tough mayor, I will give her that.” Rainbow Dash still finds herself flying in the air and she is not giving up fighting the evil giant-sized Mayor Mayor just yet.
“Who gives a damn? Let’s just end this already!” Pinkie Pie pulls out her party cannon, as she wants Mayor Mare to get a taste of her bombs that are filled inside the cannon.
“Give it the best you have, fool! Try whatever trick you want, it won’t work!” Mayor Mare dared Pinkie Pie to pull the trigger from the party cannon. “I got something for you and the others, too.”
“This will shut you up!” Pinkie Pie released the bomb from her party cannon, firing it at the giant-sized Mayor Mare.
As the big bomb came even more near her, Mayor Mare kicked with her two hind hooves and send it straight back towards Pinkie Pie and her friends, hoping it will kill them all in one single blow and that they wouldn’t be alive.
“Watch out! There’s a bomb coming our way, everypony!” Fluttershy warned her friends that the bomb is about to finish them off.
Twilight Sparkle activated her magic and teleported her friends and herself away from the bomb Mayor Mare kicked with her hooves and then they disappeared for a few seconds and then they showed up again, appearing on the right side of the sidewalk.
The Mane Six never imagined that things could get more worse on a night like this, seeing that Mayor Mare is the worst nightmare the citizens of Kansas City have imagined.
“She can’t even back on down, can she?” Applejack asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Clearly she’s under Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon’s dark spell and it doesn’t look like she will give herself up, and not calling it quits either.” Twilight Sparkle told Applejack, reminding her that all Mayor Mare is going to do is just keep on fighting until the very end.
“I find it hard why you are so desperate to fight a battle you known you can’t win.” Mayor Mare is still confused about why the Mane Six are still taking the battle against her longer.
But either way it would go, Rarity told Mayor Mare with a determined expression on her face, claiming, “We are heroines, we are warriors, we have much fight left within us and we don’t care what happens in the end, we are not losing again! As long as we stick together, we can win!”
“I see. So that’s how you wanna play, eh?” Mayor Mare asked, now knowing what Rarity meant about never giving up and continue fighting on.
“Time you focus on the next opponent, Mayor!” Applejack pulled out her rope and she planned on tying Mayor Mare on all four hooves together and started running towards the giant with her rope.
Mayor Mare reads Applejack’s mind through her eyes and she fired a laser beam from her eyes, destroying Applejack’s rope.
“You know, I am getting so fed up with these evil giants destroying my rope I carry sometimes…” Applejack said to herself in anger after she noticed the rope in her hooves disappeared completely.
Fluttershy, having her front right hoof under her chin, told Applejack, telling her, “Um, maybe we should try avoiding ropes as weapons and think of something else…”
“I don’t have any other weapons that I can use right now!” Applejack argued back, as she didn’t had anything else she brought with her besides her usual rope as the signature weapon for battle. “This is becoming annoying, very annoying…!”
“Pay attention!” Mayor Mare fired another laser beam from her eyes, taking aim at Applejack, hoping she kills her victim with her eye beams.
Applejack reacted in shock and jumped out the way in time before the beam could strike her.
“Phew, that was close…” She said in relief that she is still standing and alive.
Twilight Sparkle soon levitated her friends, bringing them towards her where she was just beginning to think that they need a big finishing blow on Mayor Mare.
“Girls, we must defeat her all at once!” Twilight Sparkle reminded her friends that unleashing the magic from them is the only way that they can free Mayor Mare from the evil corrupted alicorns’ control. “Even though the Elements of Harmony have been been destroyed a long time, we still can defeat our enemies without them, like Discord told us once before.”
“We defeated Sombra the second time without the elements and we defeated Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow without the elements, and we must defeat Mayor Mare with all the power we have combined together.” Rainbow Dash said, knowing that this plan will work.
The power inside the Mane Six combined together was growing even more powerful and the rainbow within them grew larger as they Mane Six continued rising in the air.
“What are you all planning?” Dark Mayor Mare questioned the Mane Six about what they are doing next.
“You’ll find out once we defeat you with all the magic we have in us and this one’s big!” Rainbow Dash told Mayor Mare as she has something for the evil giant pony when it is fully prepared, which won’t take long anyway.
Just seconds later, the Mane Six feel the magic reaching its maximum limit and know that now is the time they finish things before Dark Mayor Mare wins.
Twilight Sparkle and her friends spoke at once saying, “Together, with six ponies having all the power that is inside us, we must defeat the enemy who is a former friend to us, and bring them back on the good side.”
The Mane Six soon unleashed the power from them, and send it straight towards Mayor Mare, and they will get her back on the good side once she is defeated.
“No… You can’t be serious… No! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” Mayor Mare screamed her final words before the Mane Six’s full combined power went right through her, hitting her and she was unable to escape out of it.
Moments later, Mayor Mare was defeated and then collapsed on the ground, where her eyes remained close and her mouth still slightly open.
The Mane Six walked up to the unconscious Mayor Mare and it seems they have broke her free from the evil, corrupted alicorns’ control, meaning that Mayor Mare is on the good side, and thus the dark power within her vanished.
“Alright, we finally have the mayor back on the good side again, girls!” Applejack told her friends with excitement, seeing that Mayor Mare is knocked out cold and is on the right side where she belongs.
“Nobody’s gonna ever want another evil mayor in this city.” Rarity was glad that she doesn’t want to look at another evil mayor in her life forever.
“This time, we won! Wahoo!” Rainbow Dash flies in the air twice with happiness.
“Things have just gotten better unlike what happened during our last battle in New York, which was terribly awful.” Pinkie Pie was feeling more confident that they are tonight as the happy ending that she was waiting for since yesterday and she felt that she and her friends might win the next battle.
Twilight Sparkle and her friends all hug each other as they celebrate victory and bring happiness back for the citizens residing in Kansas City.
“Victory is what we need, not defeat!” Twilight Sparkle declared that the only things she and her friends would want are victories, restoring hope and happiness for the people around the real world.
“Now that everything’s out the way, we shall get going and head back for Equestria until morning.” Fluttershy suggests she and the others return to Equestria for now until tomorrow.
“Sounds good. I’m feeling tired myself…” Applejack yawns as she was feeling bored after a long fight in Kansas City tonight.
Twilight Sparkle created a portal using her magic and it took them back into their own universe where the others can see them, as everyone in Ponyville and Canterlot have been wondering where they were this whole time.
One at a time, the Mane Six walk through the portal, and head for Ponyville for the rest of the night. The portal closed when Rainbow Dash was the pony to go through the portal.
Back with Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon, who are on the new plane they made recently, they got angered over what has happened in Kansas City.
“So it appears… that Twilight and her friends have achieved victory this time, sister.” Nightmare Moon was not happy that Twilight Sparkle and her friends freed Mayor Mare from her and Daybreaker’s control.
“Don’t worry, they won’t get away with it next time!” Daybreaker told her younger sister, as she promised the Mane Six that they will lose the next war.
“Anyways, how is Celestia doing with her mission?” Nightmare Moon asked Daybreaker.
Daybreaker replied, saying, “Princess Celestia told us that she is still tracking down her sister, and I believe that she said will capture her once she finds her and tomorrow would be the time we turn Luna evil and she becomes one of us as well.”
“Perfect! Once Celestia captures Luna and she brings her to us, there’ll be four evil alicorns!” Nightmare Moon laughed evilly as she will soon see Princess Luna being just as evil as her, Princess Celestia and Daybreaker.
While waiting for tomorrow so that they can make the good Princess Luna disappear and let her dark self take over forever like how they did with Princess Celestia, Daybreaker and her sister continued flying in the air through the plane they are controlling.
