After seeing a comment by chubbyninja89 (https://derpibooru.org/profiles/chubbyninja89) of Bow Hothoof telling Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood off for not being there for Scootaloo, I decided to make this alternate ending to The Last Crusade where Bow calling the two ponies out!

Headcanon:

Scootaloo is adopted by Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles after her original family pass away.

The events of Season 8-9 (With the exception of The Washouts, Sound of Silence and Best Gift Ever) are not canon.

Exactly.

I mean, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again.

I think that this Bow and Windy should’ve absolutely adopted Scootaloo, as they would be better parents for her, since her and Rainbow Dash were practically sisters anyway.

And they don’t have to just make Snap and Mane terrible ponies or anything, but just that they weren’t there for her most of her life.

If it were up to me, I’d have had the writers make it to where Snap and Mane were completely happy expecting parents who were all too ready to shower their baby with love, but sadly, one of them passed away in some manner shortly after Scootaloo was born.

And as cliché as it may sound, let’s say it was Mane who passed away, and Snap was just not in the right state of mind to take care of a child all by himself at the time, so he gave her up for adoption, knowing that it was the right call at the time, but he still cared about his daughter regardless.

They could’ve even had Snap openly admit that he regretted giving Scootaloo up for adoption and all, but he knew it wasn’t right for him to try to just walk into her life after so long and just expect to be welcomed like he was there the whole time, and all that sort of stuff.

Counter-point: Their job is studying and wrangling dangerous wildlife. What are they supposed to do, take her along and hope something doesn’t maul her or eat her?
