I think there are merits to either style - it’s not a straight style upgrade like you sometimes get, it’s more of a style change.

I agree. I mean, if her mane and tail hair is so light that it floats and waves about on its own, it’s gotta be reeeally soft.
Her mane and tail would probably feel like the softest and most comfortable things ever. They are so good that you can even sleep on them. But you would have to ask Celestia first if you want to play with her mane and tail.
I always imagine that it feels really soft, but at the same time tickles quite a bit.
A very gentle summer breeze. It actually has warmth to it.
Not sure if you could feel each strand, though.
