“Elements can’t do evil” is jossed.
I wonder if “elements can’t kill” will be jossed too?

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

(None of which were displayed by the snarly smoke monster camping outside the force field.)

Actually, when Twilight triggers his alarm up by the Crystal Heart, you then see Sombra’s horn outside glow and a crystal cage imprisons Twilight. Not only does this cage negate Twilight’s teleportation ability, but it also starts making crystal grow INSIDE the empire even though Cadance’s power hadn’t run out entirely yet. So he used his own alarm system to circumvent Cadance’s efforts to keep him out AND seal away a powerful mage like Twilight. If that was all the traps and nothing else then it wouldn’t have cut to that shot of Sombra’s horn glowing.

>More being told. We never get to see anything concrete.

We see the crystal ponies in CHAINS! We see Sombra’s eyes flash inside their own heads the second they start to even mention him. They react in utter horror once they notice that he’s back. This isn’t concrete?

>We know that Discord is evil because we’re told too.
And because we see him fucking with everyone and laughing when he makes them cry.

>we also see SOmbra trying to assault the main cast
So did that hydra from Feeling Pinkie Keen. No one’s saying that was villain of the year.

>menace the crystal ponies
More being told.

>flashbacks to him enslaving them and the clear emotional trauma it inflicted on them in the present
More being told. We never get to see anything concrete.

(So, he did everything right, and he still lost. Wouldn’t that make him the worst villain?)

Or one who lost due to hard luck on his part and because of the hero’s ingenuity and teamwork. That’s a better way to be defeated than by suddenly becoming stupid in the final few minutes of the episode.

>(The thing about Sauron, is that he was actively a threat the whole time. Forget his armies, forget the Nazgûl, forget Saruman; his Goddamn ring was right there the whole time, beckoning Frodo to his service. Sombra, by contrast, gave Shining Armor herpes, camped outside the city Empire, and died.)

The second Cadance fainted he would’ve won. That was why he wasn’t actively doing anything. He didn’t need to. They were on his turf with his traps and his defences to get through. He got rid of one of the only two people who could stop him from winning instantly (Shining Armour) and just waited for the other to falter via exhaustion. Until then there wasn’t really much he could do. He wasn’t losing anything staying out there and Cadance was getting more worn out. That’s how a siege works.

>(Wrong.)

Isn’t feeling a character’s presence at least partly subjective? You either do or you don’t. I found him a consistent threat and the traumatized demeanor the Crystal Ponies wore just helped sink in the mood.

>(Yes, and?)

It was a demonstration of his power and planning abilities. Where you need dark magic to even find his lair and then having the use of that same power utterly backfire a few minutes later when you try to open his troll door. It demonstrates his cunning.

>(We know he’s evil because we are told.)

We know that Discord is evil because we’re told too. On top of being told though we also see SOmbra trying to assault the main cast, menace the crystal ponies, flashbacks to him enslaving them and the clear emotional trauma it inflicted on them in the present.

I don’t mind if you don’t like him, but do you have to assume that the people who do like him are just blindly greenlighting everything MLP does?

>he’s the only one who did everything he could and didn’t lose by being overconfident or doing something stupid
So, he did everything right, and he still lost. Wouldn’t that make him the worst villain?

>(Got a Lord of the Rings vibe from him.)
The thing about Sauron, is that he was actively a threat the whole time. Forget his armies, forget the Nazgûl, forget Saruman; his Goddamn ring was right there the whole time, beckoning Frodo to his service.

Sombra, by contrast, gave Shining Armor herpes, camped outside the city Empire, and died.

@King Sombra
>but you could always feel his presence
Wrong.

>Sombra put a spell on this door that Twilight was going into
Yes, and?

>you can assume that
>also probably
We know he’s evil because we are told.

But why does it matter? It’s just my opinion! Your opinion and the opinion of the other people who rubber stamp everything and anything the show does or could do are the only ones whose opinion matters!

Exactly. People seemed to think that he didn’t do anything. They seem to ignore all his traps and the fact that he didn’t NEED to do anything. He literally just had to stand there and wait until Cadance tired. No planning was needed. He’d already sorted the preparation side of things before the ep started. I guess I can maybe get why people weren’t so hot at that but I liked the different approach.
