Among my many reasons for praising the virtues of finding a local guy to build your computer for you, they’ll give you Windows 7 instead of 8 without any hassle if you ask for it.
As I said, it’s not that Windows 8 isn’t smooth or stable or whatever.
But Windows 7 is smooth and rock stable too. And allows you to do the same shit of Windows 8, minus the fancy mobile shenanigans, but plus an interface that everyone knows and doesn’t feel the need to change.
And the Metro interface is booooo-riiiing… Damn, I have a GPU that can do wonders and we’re sticking with flat rectangles?! Not even slightly rounded corners, not even some dropped shadows…
Not that I was a fan of the Aero interface, but damn, was all that effort flushed in the toilet? At least, that gave the user some depth. It’s not the GPU of a cell phone, damnit!
I’m starting to wonder why we’re still calling it Windows… but that’s a question that was born with Windows Phone 7 and the Metro interface itself.
Alas, every new PC is now shipped with Windows 8…
I dont know, its just about the hardware you adjust to the oc, and if the hardware stable.
I used the Developer version of the os, I used the costumer preview of the os and nowadays the release version.
I had no bugs till now, my games work smoothly, so are my software and etc.
The features are helpful too, like the search tools and the backgroud apps.
I dont use metro much, but I find it fancy. I skip into the metro when I leave my computer, because it looks pretty fancy with it.
I also use it to browse apps quickly.
Well I’m not saying it doesn’t work, but I can confirm it’s causing a lot of problems to companies and old users, who don’t have fucking time to learn how that works.
Because, you know, as far as desktop computing is concerned, there was no fucking point in changing what worked flawlessly like Windows 7. Everybody was familiar with that.
And the Metro interface can be good for a phone or a tablet, but ugh, not for a desktop PC. Makes no sense.
Microsoft’s dominion is quickly going to an end…
The only thing that would bother me about win8 is the new skype.
Well, everybody and his likes.
I guess I can just agree to disagree. All the things you mention I particularly detest, and quite honestly I can only see it working well in a tablet. If I wanted a tablet, I would have gotten a tablet.
@ExtraDan
Windows 7 did have it’s detractors, but after the in-betweener, I think everyone that tried it for more than an hour found that they could live with it rather than trying to stab it like Vista. Or Me. Or most Windows, for that matter.
Personally, I am thinking more and more of just running BSD and trying to see how those compatibility layers work.
It works better with the hardware it gets, I like the design and how modern it is.
I like the metro too.
Wow, isnt that akward because I am one of these 20% people on this world who stick to the rumors and yell “omg it sucks because i heard it sucks, i have no idea how to use OSs and its Windows 8’s fault, abolo abolo”.
Having tried Windows 8, how and why?!
Trolling is 4 chumps
I am mocking.
And I like my abomination :(
I’m talking about Windows 8, of course.
Seriously, though, Mordetwi is the crackest of all the crack ships ever. I don’t even know why it became a thing.
But then again, since I know how you like to troll, please finish that drawing ASAP!
okay the last one.
Valid reason
